Application Requirements

Grading System And University Admission Requirements :
** It is announced for the information of the University Community and the General Public that the Academic Board at its 295th Meeting held on 16th September, 2008 approved a new Grading System and the University Admission Requirements for WASSCE/SSSCE applicants as follows :
** CREDIT in the THREE WASSCE/SSSCE Core subjects i.e. English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science, and CREDIT in THREE WASSCE/SSSCE Elective Subjects or its equivalent relevant to the chosen programme with Aggregate 24 or better.
** Please NOTE the change from PASS to CREDIT and Aggregate 20 to 24. Passes, i.e D7 and E8 are not acceptable.
** All other certificate holders should have a minimum of CREDIT in all subjects.

What is the Age Limit?

The new age for mature applicants has now been reduced from 30 years to 25 years at the time of applying for admission.

Minimum Age For Mature Students Applying To Enter KNUST :
** It is announced for the information of the University Community and the General Public that the Academic Board at its 295th Meeting held on 16th September, 2008 approved a new Minimum Age one can attain before applying to the University as a Mature Student.
** All Provosts, Deans, Heads of Department must take note and amend their entry requirements to conform to the new regulation.

Here are the steps on how to register at KNUST UG Online Admission System:
1. Go to the KNUST UG Online Admission System website (https://apps.knust.edu.gh/admissions/).
2. Click on the “Register” button.
3. Enter your personal details, such as your name, date of birth, and contact information.
4. Enter your academic details, such as your WASSCE/SSCE results.
5. Upload a passport-sized photograph of yourself.
6. Pay the application fee.
7. Click on the “Submit” button.

Once you have submitted your registration form, you will receive an email confirmation. You will also be able to log in to the KNUST UG Online Admission System using your username and password.

Here are some additional things to keep in mind when registering at KNUST UG Online Admission System:
** You must have a valid email address to register.
** You must pay the application fee in order to complete your registration.
** The application fee is GHC 200 for Ghanaian citizens and GHC 500 for international students.
** You can pay the application fee online or at any of the KNUST banks.
** You will need to upload a passport-sized photograph of yourself that is not more than 6 months old.
** The photograph must be in JPEG or PNG format and must not exceed 100 KB in size.
