Procedure for Work Permits:
All vacancies must be advertised before an application can be submitted. Application forms and Medical reports are collected at the labour Department.

Completed forms are returned to the Department and must be accompanied by:
** Copy of the advertisement
** A complete work permit application
** Birth Certificate and Passport
** Police record covering the last ten (10) years
** Certified certificates as evidence of academic or professional qualifications
** Recent medical examination report
** Four (4) passport-sized photographs (identical)
** Certificate from Social Security contributions stating that the employer is registered and/or his/her Social Security contributions are up to date.
** Business Licence
** Tax Clearance
Failure to comply with the above may delay the processing of your aplication which will be returned to you for submission of all documentation.
There are four types of work permits:
** Self employed
** Employee
** Renewal and
** Temporary
There is a fee charged for each position. The fee is determined based on the profession and qualifications. An additional $100.00 EC processing fee must be paid for each work permit before it is processed.
Processing of Extension of Stay applications
** Persons needing to extend their stay in Anguilla must collect and complete an Extension of Stay Form 1-1 application.
** A photo must be submitted with the application along with a passport and an itinerary.
** As of May 1, 2007, the fee for Extension of stay has increased to EC$150.00. The fee for persons requesting multiple month extensions will be pro-rated based on the number of months applied.
** Upon the expiration of the extended time, the visitor must leave the island.

I am visiting Anguilla, do I need to obtain an Anguilla Drivers licence?
All visitors with foreign driver’s licences must purchase a temporary driving permit to drive locally for up to 6 months. The temporary permits cost $20.00 US or $53.76 EC and are available from the Inland Revenue Department or from most car rental agencies.
How can a foreign driver acquire a permanent anguilla driver’s licence?
Persons must visit the Traffic department at the Valley Police Station to apply for the licence. If permission is granted the licence fee must be paid at the Inland Revenue Department.
What is the cost of an Anguilla Drivers licence?
The cost of a one year licence is $80.00 EC; and expires on the 31st December of the year purchased. A three year licence cost $200 EC and is valid for 3 years after the date of issue.
