Volkswagen Design Contest 2014 :
Create a cool video game car for Volkswagen!
Individual mobility is facing big changes. Although adapting to new restrictions, not only regarding resources, but also limited space, we are convinced that future requirements for individual mobility and autonomous transportation will have a major impact on the way we perceive the future.

Vehicle design, as always, will continue to play an important role in this vision. Within this future view, there is a challenging need for innovative concepts and forms.
The task :
** Let your imagination and creativity run free, allow yourself maximum freedom to create a new vehicle for a video game.
** Video games have created their own unique medium, devoid of normal design barriers. This progressive approach should serve as your basis creating concepts for the competition. We are looking for new design interpretations which stress individual mobility, not uniformity. Classic tuning of commonly known production vehicles will play no role here. We require intelligent alternatives that communicate personal creativity.
** We are convinced that there is a huge future for the automobile. We are also convinced that driving fun and a passion for beautiful forms, “sculptures in motion” will remain significant.
Briefing :
** Show your maximum creativity in different fields of design : Exterior, Interior, Interface, Graphics and/or Color & Trim.
** You may focus on one of the above fields or decide to have a mixture of Exterior, Interior and/or Materials / Colors concepts. If so, please make sure to integrate all fields into a consistent final design. Also, the Volkswagen character of the car should be readily identifiable.
** The challenge is to develop not only a Volkswagen video game car but also a brand new video game scenario for your concept – racing, speed and drifting could be a direction.
** You may work on your own or in a team of maximum 2 students, but please make sure that each individual’s contribution can be identified. We are looking forward to being thrilled by your sketches, renderings, material concepts,photos and mood-boards, composed on 3 charts.
Prizes :
** After the contest deadline, the jury will choose the three best students and their respective universities.
** The three winners of the design contest will be invited to attend a six-month internship at the Volkswagen Design Center in Wolfsburg. The internship offers the winners of the competition the chance to experience and participate in the daily operation of the global Group.
** A part from support with strategy and concept development for Volkswagen´s interior, exterior and Color & Trim design, the interns will be given the chance to work on ongoing production projects.

Set up 3 pages : 150 cm wide; 100 cm high ( 59,06 inch x 39,37 inch )
Draft + description of the video game
Put your name and your university on the design( bottom right hand corner )
Format : Convert to PDF or jpg and zip all Files ( .zip or .rar )
Registration ( You have to register with your personal data and define a Username and password which you use later for logging in. )
Log in with Username and password (After logging in, you will be given access to the password-protected area with the Upload navigation item )
Uploading the entries ( After a successful upload you will receive a brief confirmation. The entry is now saved and is ready for evaluation at a later stage by the jury. )

** Maximum file size : 10 MB per chart
** Maximum number of charts : 3 charts per participant (incl. description of the video game)
