P45s :
** From August 2017, P45s will be available online employee’s individual ePay accounts.
** If a member of staff leaves your employment after this date, they will no longer be sent a paper version of their P45. We’re enhancing the ePay system so that we can provide electronic P45 documents instead.
** Introducing electronic P45s will give individuals greater access to this information because they will be able to view and download it from any device with access to the Internet, at home or work.
** This includes their own personal devices. By saving an electronic copy on their personal device, they will be able to access the document easily when starting future employment.
** Moving P45s online will also provide better security, ensuring that personal data is kept confidential by using a secure website to store this information. It also reduces the potential risks of documents getting lost in the post or being sent to the wrong postal address.
** If you have a member of staff with a disability, medical condition, visual impairment, or an accessibility issue that affects them using the ePay website, and they have an exception in place, they will automatically receive a paper P45 should they leave your employment.
** If any of the above apply, they can submit an application for an exception – please request a form by calling the Payroll Team on 01273 337400 or emailing escc.payroll@sesharedservices.org.uk. Each case will be assessed on the circumstances of the individual, and in line with the Exception policy.
** Like the current electronic payslips, the P45 information will remain available on the ePay website for 90 days after leaving employment
