Markers of English 12 and Communications 12 must first attend and successfully pass a credentialling workshop.

General Policy Guidelines for the Hiring of Team Members:
The following notes are intended to inform teachers about the rules and procedures established for the purpose of equitably selecting marking team members.

Participation in any one session does not guarantee inclusion in the following sessions; for example, participation in the February session does not guarantee inclusion in the July session. Teachers who apply to mark in only one session do not thereby diminish their chances of being selected. Team members are selected approximately three (3) months ahead of the upcoming marking session.

The following qualifications are considered in the selection process of each applicant:
** currently a teacher of the appropriate Grade 12 subject
** teaches at a Public school, an Independent school or Band school recognized by the Ministry of Education
** has at least two (2) years of experience teaching the provincially-examinable subject
** holds a valid British Columbia teaching certificate

In order to participate on a marking team, an application form must be submitted annually. However, due to the large number of applications received each school year, selection of an applicant to a team might not be possible.

Only those teachers selected to mark in a given session will be notified. Teachers invited to mark will receive an email invitation approximately 2 to 3 months ahead of a marking session from educ.examreviews AT gov.bc.ca You may wish to bookmark this email address so that it does not go into your junk email folder.

Since a successful applicant will be appointed to and become an essential member of a marking team, it is important that the applicant is able to participate full-time in a team’s assignment.

During the July marking session, NO marking teams will be required to mark for the entire period. The various subject marking teams will be organized to begin and end marking on differing dates. Nevertheless, when planning personal schedules, applicants should be prepared to mark during any portion of the entire session.

It is the applicant’s responsibility to submit a revised form if any information such as address, name, email(s), school and/or teaching assignments change.

T4As will be sent to each marker by February 28th.

No Records of Employment will be issued by the Ministry of Education.

Deadline:
Teachers must submit an application form annually to be considered for participation on a marking team. Please submit one application form per school year. Application deadline for the November, January, April, May, June and/or August exam sessions is September 30th
