Thailand Application For Airworthiness Certificate

Airworthiness certificate is a document certifying that the aircraft has passed the inspection and found to be airworthy by dividing into 2 categories as follows

1. Standard airworthiness certificate (Standard C of A) with TC

2. Special airworthiness certificate (Special C of A) with and without TC
** For aircrafts with TC but prohibited from commercial aviation
** For experimental aircrafts
** For ultra light aircrafts or paramotors

17. For used aircraft, there must be
17.1 Data on hours of operation of the aircraft body, engine and propeller from time since new up to present
17.2 Data on hours of operation of the aircraft body, engine and propeller from time since overhaul up to present (if there is any overhaul)
17.3 Record of aircraft body, engine and propeller maintenance and life limited part control list
18. For aircrafts with over 14 years of useful life, they must be treated in accordance with aging aircraft maintenance plan, such as CPCP, SSID, RAP etc.
19. Aircrafts which have gone through overhaul, modification and supplemental type certificate production must produce full evidences thereof
20. Aircrafts, engines, propellers and accessories must comply with applicable airworthiness directives (AD) of the Department of Civil Aviation and the State of Design

Application For Private Aircraft Utilization :
To promote air transportation development and enlarge the number of air transportation personnel, the Government deems it appropriate to allow the private sector, either natural person or juristic person, to utilize private aircraft. However, since such allowance may affect the country’s safety and security, it is necessary to have a strict control by requiring the private sector wishing to utilize a private aircraft to apply for private license from the Minister for Communications who has an absolute discretion whether or not to grant permission.

There are 3 types of aircrafts, namely:
1. Fixed wing aircrafts
2. Helicopters
3. Very light aircrafts

Steps :
1. Receive request & documents from applicant
2. Review documents provisionally
3. Coordinate to check applicant’s record
4. Conclude and submit to the Minister
5. Inform applicant of result of consideration
6. Issue license/collect the fee

Evidences required :
1. Natural person:
** Printed application form and personal history review form
** Copy of ID card of citizen/official/state enterprise official
** Copy of census registration
** Copy of evidence of Thai nationality acquisition (if any)
** Copy of evidence of name-surname change (if any)
** Other evidences required by the Department of Civil Aviation to produce or submit
** If the applicant is an alien, passport and visa must be produced

2. Juristic person:
** Printed application form and personal history review form
** Evidence of corporation and registration (registration certificate), objectives, juristic person’s representatives, directors, manager and/or shareholders
** Documents showing qualifications of juristic person’s representative/manager similar to those of natural person
