Entry & Exit Procedures For Macao Residents :

Introduction (Service Coverage):
1. After receiving the identity card (and the boarding pass during departure at the airport) from a Macao resident, the immigration officer at the border checkpoint immediately examines the card and verifies the identification of the holder.

The officer would also input the resident’s bio data to the computer either manually or through the Optical Character Reader. The identity card will be returned to the resident after it is confirmed that the information is correct.

2. Immigration officers conduct a preliminary examination of any Macao resident who fails to present an identity card or travel document upon entry or return to Macao because his/her identification document is lost or stolen outside Macao. Immigration officers also compose an application letter for verification of identity and capture fingerprints for the resident, whose entry will be permitted after the Immigration Department verifies his/her identity through the database shared by the Identification Bureau.

Notification of Change of Address :
Introduction (Service Coverage) :
** According to Article 27 of Administrative Regulation No. 5/2003, persons granted “Residence Authorization” are required to notify the Immigration Department of any change of address within 30 days from the date of change. Failure to do so will incur a penalty.

** Persons granted “Residence Authorization”

Application Approach :
** To notify the Immigration Department of the change of address in person, by a legal representative or by post.

Documents to be Presented :
** The original should be exhibited for authentication if a copy is submitted

Required Documents :
A. Notifying in person or by post :
1. Notification of Change of Address signed by the interested person;
2. Document indicating the new address (e.g.: copy of water bill, electricity bill, phone bill, etc. of the last 3 months);
3. Copy of interested person’s Macao Resident Identity Card.

B. Submitting documents by third party :
1. Documents 1-3 listed in Point A;
2. Copy of third party’s identification document.

C. Notifying by legal representative :
1. Documents 1-3 listed in Point A (Notification of Change of Address to be signed by the representative);
2. A certified letter of authorization;
3. Copy of representative’s identification document.
