Renew Your Residence Permit :

Getting Ready to Apply :
To renew your permit, you should provide the following documents:
** The two most recent electricity bills relating to your accommodation
** Proof of income (such as your latest salary slip, authorisation for a particular work activity or a bank reference from a bank in Monaco)
** A valid passport or ID card
If you are not the owner or a tenant of your accommodation:
A Certificate of Accommodation issued by the Monaco Police Department, to be completed by the person providing the accommodation
Submitting the documents:
You should take all the documents to the Residents’ Section, with the completed form and the supporting documents mentioned above.
What to do if your card is lost or stolen:
You should provide a statement of loss or theft, addressed to the Monaco Police Department, and take this declaration to the Residents’ Section.
Certificate of free accommodation :
** If you are intending to move into accommodation and are neither a property owner nor a tenant, you must have a certificate of free accommodation as proof of your residence in Monaco.

** After the Technical Committee on Health, Safety and Environmental Protection has made its decision, depending on the accommodation, the application can be refused.
How to request a certificate of accommodation for a stay as a tourist :
Principle and conditions :
** You will need a certificate of accommodation to apply for a Schengen visa from the French Authorities.
** This visa enables nationals of a country that does not belong to the European Economic Area to stay as a “tourist” for three months or less in the Principality of Monaco.
** To obtain this certificate, you must prove that you have accommodation or an “invitation” to the Principality of Monaco.
Obtaining and completing the form :

Collating the documents :
You must provide :
** The application form for the Certificate of Accommodation for a Stay as a Tourist
** The lease or ownership deed of the apartment
** The residence permit or ID of the person providing the accommodation
** A copy of your ID card
Sign the Certificate at the Residents Section :
** The request must be handed in at the Residents Section in the presence of the person providing the accommodation.
** This person must sign the certificate in duplicate in the presence of the officer to whom you have given the documents, so that the signature can be officially certified.
** After a 48-hour checking period, you will be issued with a Certificate of Accommodation for a Stay as a Tourist on payment of 5 € for certification of the signature.
Validating the Certificate at the Consulate General of France :
** To obtain a Schengen visa, you must have the Certificate of Accommodation for a Stay as a Tourist validated by the Consulate General of France of your place of residence.
