What is KRA PIN Checker?

The PIN Checker allows you to confirm whether or not a particular PIN is genuine. A genuine PIN will have been generated by the KRA – Domestic Taxes Department System, stored and is in current use. The Information provided by the checker is limited to only PIN numbers and names.

How To Check KRA PIN Details?

Step 1 : Go to the official website of Kenya Revenue Authority through the URL https://www.kra.go.ke/

Step 2 : Then scroll the pages down and click the PIN Checker link under KRA Online.

Step 3 : Enter your 11 digits PIN in the input box and Click Search button

For the security and confidentiality of taxpayers’ data we don’t reveal a taxpayer’s PIN on phone, email, or third parties. We can never be sure of the true identity of the requester. That is why we insist the taxpayer has to visit the nearest KRA office for identification before he/she is given the PIN.

1. Do I need a VAT certificate if I have a PIN certificate?
No. PIN certificate is sufficient. What the taxpayer need to do if they start dealing in vatable business is to add VAT obligation on the PIN.

2. What do I do if my PIN is not recognized when I try to update my iPage?
This happens for new PINs that have not been migrated to iTax. The taxpayer is required to send this PIN to KRA for migration through email Callcentre [AT] kra.go.ke and DTDOnlineSupport [AT] kra.go.ke or call 020 2390919 and 020 2391099 and 0771628105 or visit the nearest KRA office.

3. How can I change the current email address from the one I registered with in iTax?
Change of email address can be initiated by the taxpayer. On the taxpayers profile under registration, the taxpayer is allowed to amend PIN details. Once the process is initiated by the taxpayer, a task is created for approval by a KRA officer.

4. In case I forget my password what can I do?
Go to the iTax log in page and select forgotten password. You will be asked for the security question you used when registering for the first time. Once you submit the information successfully, new log in credentials will be sent to your registered email address.

5. How can I change my password if I have forgotten my security question
The taxpayer is required to send this PIN to KRA for password and security question reset through email Callcentre [AT] kra.go.ke and DTDOnlineSupport [AT] kra.go.ke or call 020 2390919 and 020 2391099 and 0771628105 or visit the nearest KRA office.

6. What do I do if my Pin is locked?
All blocked password are reset automatically within 24 hours. Alternatively the taxpayer is can send this PIN to KRA to be unlocked reset through email Callcentre [AT] kra.go.ke and DTDOnlineSupport [AT] kra.go.ke or call 020 2390919 and 020 2391099 and 0771628105 or visit the nearest KRA office.
