To purchase a privilege here :
Step One :
** Create or update your IDNR Customer Account.
Step Two :
** Follow directions and select the privilege(s) you want to buy.
Step Three:
** Make payment by using Discover, MasterCard, Visa or E-Check.
** A vendor convenience fee of $2.50 plus 2.5% of the total purchase will be added to your total.
Step Four :
** Some privileges (e.g. fishing, small game hunting, furharvesting licenses) can be printed immediately.
** This document must be carried when recreating.
** Other privileges (e.g. off-highway registration renewals and IDNR User Permits, deer tags) will be mailed to you later at the address you provided on your IDNR Customer Account.
Important Hunting Notes :
** Any resident or nonresident born after January 1, 1972 must have completed an approved hunter education program in Iowa or another state to buy a hunting license. If your hunter education certification is not on your customer record, you will have to either buy your license and show proof of hunter safety at a local vendor or call 1-800-367-1188 to complete the order.
** This is your license. If you purchase a deer or turkey license you will receive this license and harvest tag(s) in the mail in 5 TO 10 DAYS.
** You must have a valid license and tag(s) in your possession before you hunt deer or turkey.
** For licenses that will be printed on-line, you must have the current version of Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer.

Important Off-Highway Vehicle Information :
** Registration renewals for ATVs, snowmobiles, ORVs, and ORMs may be renewed through the Iowa DNR Online License and Registration Sales Site.
** Registration and decals will be delivered via mail in 5 – 10 business days.
** New registrations, transfers, and title/lien requests will still need to be processed at your County Recorder of residence.
Important User Permit Information :
** IDNR Snowmobile User Permits are required for all resident and nonresident snowmobilers operating on public land, public ice, and designated snowmobile trails.
** IDNR OHV User Permits (ATV, ORV, ORM) are required for all OHVs registered in another state in order to operate on public land, public ice, designated riding trails and designated riding areas.
** User Permit decals must be affixed to your machine for it to be legal.
** User Permits can be purchased through the Iowa DNR Online License and Registration Sales Site or at any license agent that sells hunting and fishing licenses. Permits purchased online will be delivered via mail in 5 – 10 business days.
Privacy Statement:
** The Iowa DNR is required to collect social security numbers from all persons obtaining a hunting, fishing or other recreational license under section 252J.8 of the Code of Iowa and 42 U.S. Code 666(a)(13).
Your social security number will serve as your principal identification number to determine your eligibility for licenses. It will be provided to law enforcement agencies and the Iowa Child Support Collection Unit to establish, modify and enforce child support obligations. It will not appear on your license.
** Other information collected as part of the license purchase process is considered public record and could be requested by an external third party. The Iowa DNR may use your contact information to communicate with you regarding your license purchases or to provide hunting, fishing or outdoor recreational news and updates.
