Apply for Citizenship :
A. Retention & Re-acquisition of Citizenship :
** Former Filipinos may re-acquire their Philippine citizenship through Republic Act (RA) No. 9225 or the Citizenship Retention and Re-acquisition Act.

** This law, which took effect on 17 September 2003, declares that former natural-born Filipino citizens who acquired foreign citizenship through naturalization are deemed not to have lost their Philippine citizenship under conditions provided in the Act.
** A former Filipino can re-acquire Philippine citizenship by taking the oath of allegiance to the Republic of the Philippines.
Requirements :
** Duly accomplished application form
** Birth certificate issued by the NSO duly authenticated by DFA.
** In case the birth certificate is not available, other documentary proof of the applicant’s being a former natural-born Filipino citizen.
** Certificate of Naturalization. Since the Act requires that the “loss of Philippine citizenship by the applicant must be on account of naturalization as a citizen of a foreign country”, the applicant should submit documents showing the fact of his naturalization as a citizen of a foreign country.
** Authenticated marriage certificate, if married
** Authenticated death certificate, if widowed
** Annulment, if the marriage is annulled.
** The court decision to nullify the marriage must be certified by the proper court and authenticated by DFA.
** Divorce decree, if divorcee. It must be certified by the proper court.
** Three (3) passport photos of the applicant (colored taken against a white background, size 3.5cm x 4.5cm)
** Payment of consular service fee of S$85.00 for taking an Oath of Allegiance for the re-acquisition of Philippine Citizenship
** The processing of the application will take two (2) working days.
B. Renunciation of Citizenship :
Requirements :
** Personal appearance
** Duly accomplished application form
** Original and one (1) photocopy of the Notice of Approval from the Singapore Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA)
** Two (2) signed original Oath of Renunciation
** Two (2) identical passport size photographs (4.5 cm x 3.5 cm) in color, recently taken, showing clear front view of the applicant’s face
** Applicant’s current Philippine passport with two (2) photocopies of the identification page
** Processing Fee of S$85.00 to be paid in cash
** The collection of the Oath of Renunciation Form will be after two working days from the date of application.

Authentication of documents issued in the Philippines :
** The Embassy of the Philippines does not authenticate documents issued in the Philippines. Private, commercial and legal documents issued in the Philippines for use in another country can be authenticated only by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

** Police Clearance
** Barangay Certification with Mayor’s Certification
** National Statistics Office (NSO) -issued documents on security paper (e.g. birth certificate, marriage certificate, certificate of no marriage)
** Affidavits with Regional Trial Court Certification
** Notarized Documents with Regional Trial Court Certification
** Medical Certifications authenticated by the Department of Health
** Professional Regulation Commission documents
** Land Transportation Office (LTO) License Certification issued by LTO main office only
** Foreign documents authenticated by a Philippine Embassy or Philippine Consulate-General
** Foreign documents authenticated by a foreign Embassy or foreign Consulate-General in the Philippines
** School Records (transcript of records, diploma, Form 137, etc) with a Certificate of Authentication and Verification (CAV) from the Commission on Higher Education, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority or Department of Education
** School Records with a Certificate of Authentication and Verification (CAV) issued by a State College or State University

** The business hours of DFA NCR-Northeast , DFA NCR-East, DFA NCR-West and DFA NCR-South are 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m, Mondays to Saturdays.
Authentication Fee :
As of the writing of this advisory, the authentication fee is as follows :
** regular processing, PhP 100 per document, for releasing after four working days
** expedite processing, PhP 200 per document, for releasing after one business day
