** The type of nonimmigrant visa you will need and the requirements to apply for that visa depend largely on your purpose of travel to the United States.
** By following the links below, you will be guided through the steps necessary and forms required for the type of visa appropriate for your purpose of travel.
** If you are renewing your visa, or are under 14 or over 79 years of age, please visit our Interview Waiver Program page to determine if you qualify to mail in or drop off your application without coming to the Embassy for an interview.
** Telephone inquiries accepted only Monday – Friday, 1:30 – 2:30 PM.
** In some cases, further administrative processing is required.
** We must temporarily refuse the case under Section 221(g) until processing is complete.
** Please plan ahead.
** If you know you are going to travel to the U.S., you can apply weeks, or even months ahead.
** We strongly encourage you to wait to purchase plane tickets until you have a valid visa.
** You do not need a ticket at the time of the interview.
Step 1 : Select the visa category
** I am traveling for business (excluding journalism, professional artist/performer, religious work) (B1).
** I am traveling for tourism/pleasure (B2).
** I am only transiting the U.S. (C1).
** I work as a seaman or a vessel crew member (D).
** I am a treaty trader or investor (E).
** I am going to study (F).
** I will be working for an American employer (H).
** I am a journalist and will be in the U.S. for work purposes (I).
Step 2 : Have your photo taken
** The photo should be taken within the last 6 months, and should be in accordance with U.S. visa photo guidelines.
** The application form requires a digital photo to be uploaded as part of the application process.
** You will need to upload this photo when you fill out the on-line visa application.
Step 3 : Complete the DS-160 Application Form Online
** To access the form online please click here. For more helpful hints on filling out the non-immigrant visa application, form DS-160, particularly concerning how to upload your photo and how to save the data, please see our presentation
** Please be thorough in answering the questions.
** Incomplete applications or those containing non-responsive answers will be rejected.
** When you successfully submit the application on-line a confirmation page containing a barcode at the top will be displayed
** you must print this confirmation page and bring it with you to your interview.
Step 4 : Schedule Your Appointment and Pay A Processing Fee
Each applicant will need the following before beginning the process :
** A valid current passport number for each applicant.
** Nonimmigrant Visa Electronic Application, DS-160 confirmation (barcode) number for each applicant (printed as the final step in the DS-160 process).
** A valid email address (used for confirmation and document delivery information).
Online by credit card or cash :
Please log into the Web site usvisa-info.com and create an account by using the applicant’s :
** Passport number
** Date of birth
** Nationality
** Follow instructions to select Trip Purpose, preferred Embassy to schedule an appointment, and other details related to your visa application.
The MRV fee payment can be made using the following options :
Credit Card payment: Visa or MasterCard
** Please select the appropriate card from the provided list.
** Follow directions to complete the transaction.
Cash payment at one of the Privredna Banka Zagreb bank branches :
** Please select the bank selection
** Click on the “PDF” link next to the “MRV Fee Receipt Number” box.
** Print the electronically generated deposit slip for each applicant.
** Take the deposit slip(s) to the bank and pay the appropriate fee amount.
** Return to the Web site usvisa-info.com and, when asked, enter the “MRV Fee Receipt Number”.
** Once the MRV fee has been paid or the MRV Fee Receipt Number entered, the Web site will open a calendar to select the appointment date and time.
** Follow the instructions on the Web site until the site ends at the appointment confirmation.
Step 5 : Prepare Documents
Each applicant will need the following before beginning the process :
** A valid current passport number for each applicant.
** Nonimmigrant Visa Electronic Application, DS-160 confirmation (barcode) number for each applicant (printed as the final step in the DS-160 process).
** A valid email address (used for confirmation and document delivery information).
Step 6 : Appear for your Interview at the Scheduled Time
Please be sure to bring with you to your interview :
** The confirmation page from your on-line DS-160 application
** One recent color photo (click here for photo guidelines)
** Valid passport
** Visa interview appointment confirmation page
** Supporting documentation.
Step 7 : Collect your Visa
** If approved, your visa will be ready for pick-up in three to five working days at the selected DHL regional center.
** There is NO additional fee for DHL delivery.
** If your visa application is temporarily refused under 221(g) and you should submit information/documentation following 221(g) refusals, you can do so by sending requested documentation by DHL.
Important Information :
** If you are applying for more than one visa type you must fill out two application forms, one for each visa type.
** You are also required to make two application fee payments online or through the CSC call center.
** The only exception applies to cases when you are applying for visa categories B1/B2 and C1/D at the same time, in which case you need to pay only one application fee but you still need to fill out two DS-160 application forms.
** If you work, study or are otherwise resident outside of Croatia, you are advised to apply for your visa in that country.
