A Learner Driver’s Licence has to be acquired for a period of three (3) months before the actual licence could be applied for.

Requirements :
** Physical presence of applicant at any DVLA office
** Minimum 18 years of age
** Basic education (BECE) or Adult Education, Ability to read and write
** Pictures
Procedure :
** Purchase and completion of Forms F and F1
** Physical examination and eye test
** Payment and issuance of Learner Driver’s Permit, L-Plate, Syllabus and Highway Code
** Compulsory 48-hour training with a DVLA accredited driving school
** Capture of biometric information and scheduling for written test
** Written exams (Computer-Based Test)
** Oral examination
** In- Traffic Test
** Payment of Driver’s Licence and P-Plate fees
** Capture for Driver’s Licence
** Issuance of Temporary Driver’s Licence and P-Plate
** Issuance of Driver’s Licence
About Us :
The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) is a public organisation under the Ministry of Transport. It was established in 1999 by an Act of Parliament (Act 569), 1999.
DVLA replaced the Vehicle Examination and Licensing Division (VELD). By the Act, DVLA is to provide a regulated framework for an enhanced and more effective administration of drivers and vehicles. DVLA was granted partial autonomy by Government in April, 2016.
