IDP :

To acquire an International Driving Permit, the applicant must personally contact DVLA.

Requirements :
** Presence of applicant
** A valid driver’s license/cover note
** Two (2) passport size pictures.

Procedure :
** Authentication of applicant’s Driver’s Licence
** Payment of fees
** Filling of forms
** Test on Road Signs and Markings, general questions on the country for which the permit is to be issued
** Issuance of International Driving Permit

(An International Driving Permit is valid for 1 year from the date of issue)

About Us :
The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) is a public organisation under the Ministry of Transport. It was established in 1999 by an Act of Parliament (Act 569), 1999. DVLA replaced the Vehicle Examination and Licensing Division (VELD).

All private and commercial vehicles are to visit any of the DVLA certified Private Vehicle Test Station (PVTS) for an inspection and Certification.

2. How do I use the DVLA Online service portal to apply for a service?
At the home page of the DVLA website, Click on Individual or Corporate tab to register as individual or corporate institution;
** Login with your unique username and password
** Apply for a service

** Generate an invoice
** Proceed to your selected DVLA office

3. How do I know the validation dates on my license?
Look at the back of the license, you will find two rectangular boxes labelled; 1st Renewal and 2nd Renewal. The respective validations dates are indicated in boxes.

4. What do I need to bring to the DVLA to validate my license?
Take your driver’s license with you to the nearest DVLA office. You will be required to go through an eye test.

5. I am 17yrs old. Can I apply for a driver’s license?
No. You must be 18yrs and above to qualify to apply for a driver’s license
