Requirements :
** Valid foreign drivers’ license
** Applicant must have requisite papers to stay in Ghana (at least a one year stay or a letter from a Ghanaian employer)

1. I am in Accra, I want to renew my Roadworthy Certificate, where do I go?
All private and commercial vehicles are to visit any of the DVLA certified Private Vehicle Test Station (PVTS) for an inspection and Certification.
2. How do I use the DVLA Online service portal to apply for a service?
At the home page of the DVLA website, Click on Individual or Corporate tab to register as individual or corporate institution;
** Login with your unique username and password
** Apply for a service
** Generate an invoice
** Proceed to your selected DVLA office
3. How do I know the validation dates on my license?
Look at the back of the license, you will find two rectangular boxes labelled; 1st Renewal and 2nd Renewal. The respective validations dates are indicated in boxes.
4. What do I need to bring to the DVLA to validate my license?
Take your driver’s license with you to the nearest DVLA office. You will be required to go through an eye test.
5. I am 17yrs old. Can I apply for a driver’s license?
No. You must be 18yrs and above to qualify to apply for a driver’s license
6. My name was wrongly spelt during the biometric capture. How do I get it corrected?
Take your license and your birth certificate to the nearest DVLA for the error to be rectified.
7. I recently got married, can I change the name on my license to my married name?
Yes. Visit the nearest DVLA office with your married certificate.
8. I forgot to replace my old license (the manual green or yellow booklet type) issued in 1990. Can I replace it with the latest card type license?
No. DVLA has stopped replacing all manual type driver’s license. You will have to start as a learner applicant.
9. I made an application for a learner license in 2010, I traveled, just returned. Can I continue the process?
No. You will have to start the process all over again.
10. I have lost my registered vehicle documents. Can I get duplicate copies from DVLA?
Yes. Contact the nearest DVLA office with a police report
11. Why do I have to take an eye test to validate my license for two years?
Every license holder is mandated by law to take an eye test before the license is validated.
