Extension of Stay :
Various Extension Of Stays – Visitor, Student Permit, Employment, Marriage, Dependency. Extensions of stay are processed within three (3) working days

Visitor – A person on visit cannot remain in the island in excess of six (6) months
** Valid Passport for at least six (6) months
** Return Ticket
** Letter stating reason extension is being sought
** Entry visa based on list of countries that require visa prior to arrival
Student – This is where a foreign national is enrolled in a Institution of learning, registered by the Ministry of Education. This person should attend the PICA office on arrival in the Island within two weeks of entering Jamaica have their extension placed in passport
** Valid passport for at least six (6) months
** Letter of Registration from an Educational Institution ( accredited by the Ministry of Education) addressed to the Chief Executive Officer
** Return ticket valid for one (1) year
** Entry visa (where applicable) based on list of countries that require visa prior to arrival
Employment – This is where a foreign national is engaged in gainful employment
** Valid passport for at least six(6) months
** Work permit/exemption/receipt/letter from the Ministry of Labour and Social Security
** Entry visa ( where applicable) based on list of countries that require visa prior to arrival
Marriage Exemption – This is where a foreign national is married to a Jamaican national
** Valid passport for at least six(6) months
** Marriage exemption certificate from the Ministry of Labour and Social Security
** Birth/Naturalization Certificate or Machine readable Jamaican passport of Jamaican Spouse
** Entry Visa (where applicable) based on list of countries that require visa prior to arrival
** Marriage Certificate
Dependency – This where a foreign national does not work but is a dependent on a spouse or parent who works in the Island.
** Valid passport for at least six(6) months
** Principal applicants passport, work permit/exemption letter from Ministry of Labour or Citizenship Certificate
** Documents establishing relationship eg. Marriage Certificate, Birth Certificate/Adoption Certificate
** Entry Visa (where appliacable) based on list of countries that require visa prior to arrival

Aliens over 16years must be registered at a Cost of JMD two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) if remaining in excess of six(6) months Additionally, Non Commonwealth nationals as well as Nigerians, Pakistanis, Sri Lankans nationals of British Virgin Island and the Cayman Islands are required to pay Multiple Entry Visa fees :
