DM Food Consignment Release Permit
This service enables the customer to obtain an approval to release food consignment from Dubai ports for Local Market consumption, where this service is mandatory and eligible by food traders. This service is provided by Food Control Department.

Notes :
1. It is mandatory to register food items before consignment arrival to the port of entry.
2. Refundable deposit should be available to obtain consignment release (in some cases).
3. Deferred Food Consignment Inspection takes place when it is not possible to inspect all the items in the port, under the consignee’s liability not to sell/remove it until permission is given by DM.
4. Conditional release is given to some food consignment for specific uses or to be disposed of in certain locations such as catering/ship chandelling, Global village…etc

About Dubai Municipality :
The origin of Dubai Municipality was founded in 1954 commencing its activities with a cadre of seven employees undertaking simple tasks in cleaning the city.
The first decree establishing the Municipality was on February 28, 1957, whereby 23 municipal council members had been appointed from the elders of the country and traders with limited powers, the most important of which was to take care of health and architectural affairs of the city as well as to organize construction and beautification of the city and provide constructive suggestions to the government.
