The School of Information Technologies at The University of Sydney established this Scholarship in 2015 to expand and enrich the School’s learning community by recognising and supporting outstanding students from diverse cultural backgrounds and promote diversity amongst its student body

Eligible International students with a firm offer of admission for MIT, MITM or MIT/MITM

To be eligible, applicants must :
1. Be a citizen of one of the following countries :
Latin America :
Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Columbia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Falkland Islands, French Guiana, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, Venezuela.

Middle East :
Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Yemen.

Asia Pacific :
American Samoa, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, Chile, Taiwan Province of China, Hong Kong SAR, Christmas Island, Coco (Keeling) Islands, Comoros, Cook Islands, Fiji Islands, French Polynesia, Guam, Indonesia, Japan, Kiribati, Korea, Laos, Micronesia, Fed. States of Northern Mariana Island, Madagascar, Malaysia, Maldives, Marshall Islands, Mauritius, Micronesia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nauru, Nepal, New Caledonia, Niue, Norfolk Island, Pakistan, Philippines, Palau, Papua New Guinea, North Korea, Peru, Philippines, Samoa, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Solomon Islands, South Korea, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Vietnam, Wallis and Futuna Islands.

2. Have a firm offer of admission for the Master of IT (MIT), Master of IT Management (MITM) or the combined MIT/MITM programs commencing in semester 1, 2015.
3. Have a strong academic record as indicated by their undergraduate transcript.

Scholarship Value :
The scholarship shall be awarded on the basis of academic merit as indicated by the applicant’s performance in their undergraduate degree (and specifically in IT and IT-related subjects).
The scholarship is valued at $6,000 per annum for one year only.
Payments shall be made in equal instalments after the Census date of each semester subject to academic performance deemed to be a high credit average (70%) in the first semester after receiving the scholarship.

Note :
Currently enrolled students are not eligible.

Terms and Conditions :

I. The Scholarship shall be open to all international applicants with a firm offer for the Master of Information Technology (MIT), the Master of Information Technology Management (MITM), or the MIT/MITM commencing i semester 1, 2015, with the country of origin in the regions of 1) Latin America; 2) Middle East and 3) Asia Pacific.
II. The Scholarship is not available to students who have already commenced study in one of the above programs.
III. The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit as indicated by the applicant’s performance in their undergraduate degree (specifically in IT and IT-related subjects) and other tertiary-level studies.
IV. The Scholarship shall be tenable in the School of Information Technologies and shall not be transferable.
V. The Scholarship cannot be deferred.
VI. The Scholarship shall be tenable for one year subject to the Scholarship recipient meeting all the obligations of the program, and subject to academic progress being deemed satisfactory by The University of Sydney. The Scholarship recipient is expected to achieve at least a high credit average (minimum 70%) in their first semester after receiving the scholarship.
VII. Successful candidates must be enrolled on a full-time basis, and may commence in either semester 1 or semester 2.
VIII. The Scholarship shall be valued at $6,000pa and will be paid in two instalments following the census date of each semester.
IX. In the event of a scholar leaving the program for any reason and not completing the MIT, MITM or MIT/MITM, they may be required to pay back any monies received in the year of discontinuation.
X. The Scholarship may be suspended or withdrawn should the Scholar fail to comply with any of the Terms and Conditions outlined above
