Driving License Renewal :

The Driving License Renewal Service provides the opportunity for Bahraini drivers to renew their driving license online. In addition, kindly be aware that the renewal process is accepted three months in advance prior to the expiry date.

For example, if your driver license expiry date is on 15/June, you may apply for renewal on any date after 15/March.

Drivers willing to renew their driving license must meet the indicated criteria : :
** Bahraini National
** Own a Smart Card
** Under 60 years of age
** Own a private vehicle or motorcycle license

Notes :

** If there are any contraventions against you, you will be directed to “Traffic Contraventions Payment” screens

** All contraventions must be paid prior to driving license renewal. For Court Transferred Contravention(s) and GCC Contravention(s), you will need to visit General Directorate of Traffic (GDT) in order to complete your payment and driving license renewal

** If you are above 60 years of age; you must visit General Directorate of Traffic to undergo a Medical Exam and in turn follow the renewal process as per the guidelines defined within General Directorate of Traffic
** You can renew an expired drivers license online if it has not been expired for more than three years. In addition, after three years of the expiry date, the driver must undergo a medical examination

** Enter “Driver Details”. Then click on “Submit”
** If there are any contraventions against you, you will be directed to “Traffic Contraventions Payment” screens
** Complete “Address Details” which will be used for delivery of Driving License
** Follow up payment steps. If you wish to retain a copy of payment receipt press “Print”
