FAQs

Does LMRA issue all types of visas or permits required for coming to Bahrain?
LMRA only processes work permits for expatriate employees and their dependants as a one stop service.

All other types of visas (visit visa, student or business visas, property owners, and special visa schemes for retirement or investment in Bahrain, visas for residents of Saudi Arabia who rent or buy property in Bahrain etc…) can be requested from NPRA.

Whom do I contact in order to get or renew a CPR card, amend or change details or address on my CPR card or replace a lost or stolen card?
It is the employer obligation to apply for any updates related to your ID card. You need to make sure that you have given the employer your residential address at the time of application (or within 30 days after arrival in Bahrain).

The employer needs to update this at the CIO’s address department in Isa Town in order to avoid delays in CPR card issuance.

What should I do if I am being subject to verbal or physical abuse or harassment?
This does not fall within the jurisdiction of LMRA, as it is an alleged criminal offence.

If you are subject to or witnessed any form of abuse, harassment or attack, be it from the employer or anyone else, please contact the nearest police station or call the Emergency Police Services on 999.

What to do if my (or my family) details showing on LMRA’s e-services or the expat portal are not correct?
If you notice any information mismatch between our system and your official documents, please contact your employer who should submit an e-support ticket through Clients E-support Center and upload the relevant documents.

What is Expatriate employee enrolment (sometimes referred to as employee registration)?
It is compulsory that all the expatriate employees are enrolled with LMRA. This procedure is done to have all the required details for issuing smart cards at a later stage and to fight against fraud and passports forgery.
