1. Sir Fitzroy MacLean Travel Scholarship :
The University of Glasgow is pleased to award 7 Sir Fitzroy Maclean Travel scholarships to support students undertaking travel in order to develop an existing skill or learn a new one (e.g. attend a Summer School or a Language School, etc).
The award is available to undergraduate, Postgraduate Taught and Postgraduate Research students.
Sir Fitzroy Maclean was a Scottish soldier, author and politician. Awarded an Honorary degree of DLitt from the University in 1969, Sir Fitzroy Maclean had a long relationship with the University before he died in 1996. In 1997 a scholarship with respect to Sir Fitzroy’s interests and passions, and lecture series were created in his memory.

2. Eligibility :
To be eligible applicants must :
** Be a registered student at the University of Glasgow or a student who graduated in the year of application for the scholarship.
** Be attending a Summer School, a language school or any other training programme at a reputable university preferably but not exclusively in one of the countries linked to Sir Fitzroy’s interests : Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro.
** The award is for one year and must be used in the year of the award; it cannot be deferred or transferred.
