Food Assistance For Older Persons :
This service is intended to assist poor senior citizens that are 60 years or older and are experiencing hardship in fulfilling their basic needs such as food.

Eligibility :
Must be a Bahamian citizen or permanent resident that is 60 years or older.
Process :
** The applicant visits the Senior Citizens Division, requesting intervention from the Social Services Representative (SSR).
** The Intake process and form are completed by the SSR.
** A needs assessment and home investigation are arranged and completed.
** The SSR then makes a recommendation based on the findings.
** The applicant is informed of the recommendation made about whether or not they qualify for the service.
