House Repair Assistance For Older Persons :

This service is intended to assist poor senior citizens that are 60 years or older with the necessary repairs to their homes.

Eligibility :
** The applicant must be a Bahamian Citizen or permanent resident that is 60 years or older.
** The applicant must own and be occupying the structure to be repaired.

Process :
** The applicant visits the Senior Citizens Division, requesting intervention from the Social Services Representative (SSR).
** The intake process and form are then completed by SSR.
** A needs assessment and home investigation are then completed.
** The applicant submits three price quotes for each item requested and labour costs.
** The SSR then makes a recommendation based on the findings.
** The applicant is informed of the recommendation made about whether or not they qualify for the service.
