How much does it cost to get water?
Below are the PUC approved rates. See Rates & Metering for additional information. These rates apply only in areas where service is currently available or the premise is within 30 feet of water mains.

New Connection : (Except San Pedro)
Residential Customer – $ 85.00 connection + $ 50.00 security Deposit
Commercial Customer – $ 85.00 connection + $ 200.00 security Deposit

San Pedro Rates :
Residential Customer – $127.50 connection +$ 50.00 security deposit
Commercial Customer – $ 637.50 connection +$ 300.00 security deposit

Who sets the policies and procedures as it relates to the services offered by the company?

Consumption is billed based on the tariff structure approved by the Public Utilities Commission. See rates and metering. Use or consumption calculator to estimate your bill.

When will disconnection start in my area and the minimum you need to owe to avoid disconnection?
Notices are normally aired on the radio. Disconnection can occur within 1 or 2 days after the due date on your bill and for any past due balance. (Over 30 Days)

Which area is water and sewer or water only?
Sewer zones are located in Belize City, Belmopan and San Pedro. Sewer Zones are areas where sewer service is accessible.

About Us :
Belize Water Services Limited is the water and sewerage utility for the country of Belize, serving the larger municipal areas of the country. As part of a privatization initiative of the Government of Belize (“GOB”), BWS was formed in January 2001 and vested with the assets and liabilities of the former Water and Sewerage Authority in March 2001.

Some 83% of the shares of BWS were acquired by Cascal, a joint British-Dutch company, via an investment agreement with the GOB.
