Obtain Birth Certificate :

The Supreme Council of Health issues birth certificates for children born in Qatar.

Children born to foreign nationals are not entitled to Qatari nationality. Expatriate parents are responsible for registering their child’s birth with their respective country’s embassy.

All birth in Qatar should be registered at the Women’s Hospital, next to Hamad General Hospital on Al Rayyan Road.

Application Process:
Follow these steps to obtain a birth certificate for your newborn child:
** Once the child is born, obtain two letters from the hospital.
** Bring the two letters, along with a copy of the vaccination card, both parents’ passports, copies of your Residence Permits (or entry visas) and marriage contract to the Women’s Hospital.
** Complete any required paperwork.
** Pay appropriate fees.

The birth certificate can be issued on the same day of registration.

Additional Information:
A fee of QR20 will be charged for each birth certificate.

First : New Qatari Births – Born in Qatar :
Qatari Father + Qatari Mother :
** Original ID of Husband & Wife + Copy of each.
** Copy of Marriage Contract .
** Vaccination Card + Copy + Notification of live birth.

Qatari Father + Non -Qatari Mother:
** Original ID of Husband & Wife + Copy of each.
** Original + Copy of Wife’s Passport (Residence Permit or
** Entry Visa for Non-Gulf wife should be attached).
** Copy of Marriage Contract.
** Marriage Approval by MOI for Non-Gulf Wife.
** Vaccination Card + Copy + Notification of live birth.

Second : New Qatari Births – Born Abroad :
** Original ID of Husband & Wife + Copy of each.
** Original + Copy of Wife’s Passport (Residnce Permit or
** Entry Visa for Non-Gulf wife should be attached).
** Copy of Marriage Contract.
** Marriage Approval by MOI for Non-Gulf Wife.
** Original Child Birth Certificate (authenticated from Country of Birth).
** Pass Ticket.
** Blood Group

Third : New Non – Qatari Births – Born in Qatar :
** Original Valid Passport of Husband & Wife + Copy of each.
** Valid Residence Permit (or Entry Visa for Non- Resident)
** Vaccination Card + Copy + Notification of Live Birth.
** Copy of Marriage Contact
Note :
20 QR will Charge for each Birth Certificate Notice .

Requirements For Issuing Copy of Birth Certificate :
First : Qataris ( Qatari Father- Qatari Mother )
** Valid original and copy of father’s and mother’s ID.
** Valid original and copy of the certificate’s holder’s ID.
** Copy of Death Certificate of the deceased father or mother.
** Valid original and copy of the applicant’s ID.
** Authorization letter for the representative and his ID.

Second : Qataris ( Qatari Father- Non- Qatari Mother )
** Valid original and copy of father’s ID + valid original and copy of mother’s passport.
** Copy of Death Certificate of the deceased father or mother.
** Valid original and copy of the certificate’s holder’s ID.
** Authorization letter for the representative and his ID.

Third : Non- Qataris
** Valid original and copy of father’s and mother’s passports.
** Valid original and copy of the certificate’s holder’s passport.
** Copy of Death Certificate of the deceased father or mother.
** Authorization letter for the representative and his ID.

Fourth : Official copy of birth certificate for a child born in Doha living outside
1. Official authorization letter for the applicant living in the State of Qatar, accredited by his Embassy + Official identification of the applicant.
2. Personal identification of the certificate’s holder+ official identification of the mother and father (accredited by the Embassy) or official letter by the Embassy stating their names and nationalities.
