This service is provided for issuing licenses for regulating trade exchanges of endangered species of wild fauna and flora between Oman and the world.

Steps to follow to request the service:
Application process:
The applicant submits a letter, and ID Card, to the Director, Biodiversity specifying the following:
Type of Fauna and Flora to be imported/ exported..
Number
Country to be imported to/ exported from.
Specifying the border port in case of land transportation..
Details of applicant (name/ phone number)
Concerned official shall search for the Fauna and Flora to be imported/ exported in order to determine the addendum of agreement.
Next step will follow the result of the step (1)..
Proceedings:
If the animal/ plant is under addendum (1), the following will be taken:
In case of exporting:
The applicant shall present a permit from the importing country for importing CITES. Ensuring correctness of the permit data, a permit for exporting CITES will be issued, and a No Objection Letter to the Ministry of Agriculture will be given to the applicant.
In case of Importing:
The applicant shall present a permit from the exporting country for exporting CITES. Ensuring correctness of the permit data, a permit for importing CITES will be given to the applicant. .
In case of re-exporting:
The applicant will be given an export permit including the following:
Number of permit for exporting CITES from the exporting country..
Date of the permit of the exporting country.
Country of origin.
Date of the permit of the exporting country.
If the Fauna and Flora is listed under the addendum 2 of the agreement, the following procedures will be followed:
In case of exporting:
An export permit will be given to the applicant.
In case of Import:
The applicant shall present a permit from the exporting country for exporting CITES. Ensuring correctness of the permit data, a No Objection Letter addressed to the Ministry of Agriculture will be given to the applicant.
In case of re-export:
The applicant will be given an export permit including the following.
Number of permit for exporting CITES from the exporting country.
Date of the permit of the exporting country.
If the Fauna and Flora is listed under the addendum 3:
The procedures will be in accordance with the Oman’s policies and will depend on the Fauna/ Flora to be imported/ exported.

The applicant will be informed by a phone call or an email, or he may present in person.
