FAQs :
Where can I get hold of the IBAN details of the person / organization I want to pay?
The usual way to obtain the IBAN is to contact the beneficiary directly and request the details from them. Alternatively, the beneficiary may quote their IBAN on their invoice.

Where do I input the IBAN information of the beneficiary I am making a payment to?
The IBAN details of the beneficiary must be quoted on your transfer request either through WOL or the branch i.e. it should be entered in the beneficiary account number or IBAN field when entering beneficiary details.

What should I do, if the company I want to pay did not give me their IBAN?
If the company hasn’t printed their IBAN on their invoice, you should ask for it. You should advise the company that payment could be rejected, delayed or incur extra charges if they don’t provide this information.

You should be aware that the beneficiary’s bank can reject your payment if you don’t use an IBAN.

I make payments to Lebanon, KSA & Europe on a regular basis. What should I do about IBAN?
You should quote the IBAN number of the beneficiary to successfully process the payment. If your payment does not quote the IBAN number the transaction will be rejected.

Can I process payments to Lebanon, KSA & Europe without including IBAN?
If you do not include the IBAN number the payment will not be processed, the amount will be refunded in your account and you will receive a call from NBK to inform you about the rejection and to include the IBAN before the transaction will be processed.

Does IBAN apply to payments to all countries?
No, currently it only applies to payments made to Lebanon, Saudi and Europe.
