2) What is Create Account?:
Create Account allows you to sign-up for a PayPal account securely from your QNB Internet Banking. PayPal will use the information provided by QNB, such as your name, email address and credit/debit card details to create the PayPal account instantly.
Your credit/debit card information will be linked to your PayPal account and stored securely by PayPal. Opening your PayPal account is fast, secure, free and convenient and you can immediately start using it to shop at thousands of online stores.
If you already have a PayPal account, you need to link your QNB debit/credit card to your PayPal account directly via PayPal website.
How does it work?:
When you click on Create Account, you are asked to choose the credit/debit card you wish to attach to your PayPal account and verify the information that will be used to create it. You can choose one or more than one card to attach to your PayPal account. QNB securely sends the information to PayPal to create the account. To finalize the PayPal account creation, you are asked to enter a password on the PayPal mini-browser page and accept PayPal User Agreement and Privacy Policy. You will then receive an email from PayPal confirming the creation of the PayPal account.
What if I did not finalize the PayPal account creation process?:
Once you have confirmed your credit/debit card and personal information, the PayPal account is created. You need to click on “Create Password & agree to PayPal User Agreement” to finalize the process.
If you do not complete the last steps, your PayPal account will be created but you will not be able to use it. In this case, PayPal will send you a reminder email explaining the steps to finalize the process on www.paypal.com. There’s no need for you to be redirected back to QNB Internet Banking to finalize the process.
Why open my PayPal account on QNB Internet Banking instead of PayPal.com?:
Opening your PayPal account on QNB Internet Banking makes it easier, faster and more convenient to start with PayPal. As you are operating from QNB secure online banking environment, PayPal will trust your account and lift restrictions usually applied on new PayPal accounts. You can also select different credit or debit cards to attach with PayPal and choose credit/debit card you wish to use when making payment.
How can I change the details of my PayPal account?:
You cannot change the information that QNB securely sends to PayPal to create the PayPal account. However, you can log in to your newly created PayPal account on www.paypal.com/qa and then make changes such as adding/changing the email address, credit/debit cards attached to the account and other details.
Why can’t I use Create Account?:
If you already created a PayPal account on QNB Internet Banking, the Create Account service will be shaded and you will not be able to use it anymore. If you wish to create another PayPal account, you can go to www.paypal.com/qa.
Can I close my PayPal account?:
To close your PayPal account, you need to log in to your PayPal account on www.paypal.com/qa, go to Account > Profile > My Settings > Close Account.
3) What is Top-up?:
Top-up service allows you to transfer funds (top-up) instantly from your QNB bank account into your PayPal account.
You can top-up up to QAR 10,000 daily.
The money will be immediately available on your PayPal account.
How does it work?:
Once you create your PayPal account on QNB Internet Banking, simply select the amount you wish to top-up your PayPal account with and confirm the payment. The money appears instantly in your PayPal account and you will receive an email letting you know that the money is available. You can then shop online and spend that balance.
Can I top-up for a PayPal account not created in QNB Internet Banking (already created in PayPal directly)?:
You can top-up for an already created PayPal account provided the e mail ID in your QNB profile is the same as your PayPal account e-mail address. Please note that PayPal allows top-up for PayPal accounts created in selected countries, in case your PayPal account is created in a country that is not enabled for top-up you would require opening a new PayPal account in order to use top-up service.
What if my QNB profile email is different from my PayPal account email?:
If the email registered on QNB is not your PayPal account email address, you can attach the QNB registered email address to your existing PayPal account by logging in to PayPal > My Account > Profile > Add/Edit Email.
You can also change the email address registered in your QNB profile.
What if I don’t have a PayPal account?:
You can create a PayPal account on QNB Internet Banking. If you did a top-up to your email address without having a PayPal account, you can sign up for an account using this email address and claim the money once the PayPal account is created.
How much does it cost?:
Top-up is free of charge. Money is debited in QAR from your Bank account and credited in USD to your PayPal account.
Can I cancel or recall a Top-up transaction?:
If you use the top-up service and you don’t have a PayPal account, you have the option to recall the transaction in Transaction History. If you successfully recall a top-up transaction, you will not receive the funds in your PayPal account.
If you top-up your existing PayPal account, you cannot cancel the payment.
Why can I only top-up with US dollars?:
PayPal offers the ability to send funds and make payments in many currencies. At this stage Qatari Riyal (QAR) is not a currency supported by PayPal so top-up is done in US Dollars.
How can I know the balance on my PayPal account?:
Your PayPal account balance and transaction history can be tracked by logging onto your PayPal account at www.paypal.com/qa.
How can I track my top-up transactions?:
You can track all top-up transactions in the Transaction History.
