Abudhabi Issuing Marriage Contract
Marriage contracts are officially issued and registered in Abu Dhabi by the Abu Dhabi Judiciary Department (ADJD). Marriage procedures can be held inside or outside the Judiciary Department premises.

If you are planning to get married inside the Judicial Department premises, you and your prospective spouse must visit the customer service counter at the marriage contracts Section, with the legal guardians and witnesses and submit the required documents.
If you are planning to get married at another venue, outside the Judicial Department premises, such as your home, you must visit or contact the Judiciary Department to request for and book a marriage judge. All original required documents should be submitted at the appointed date. The marriage Judge will not be able to issue the marriage contract if any document is missing.
After the marriage procedures are completed, you or your spouse may visit the Judiciary Department within 2 – 10 days to collect the marriage contract, and an attested copy.
Special Conditions
** Marriage contracts are not issued for females under 18 hijri years, except after obtaining approval from the judge and the concerned committee.
** UAE nationals working in the armed forces who wish to marry from a nationality other than UAE should obtain approval from the armed forces and the concerned committee.
** GCC Nationals who want to marry a female from a nationality other than GCC, should provide approval of their respective countries.
** Yemeni females who want to marry from another nationality, should provide approval from her respective country.
** UAE Nationals who carry a passport issued from the emirate of Ajman who want to marry a female from a nationality other than GCC, should provide approval from the Ajman judicial department.
** GCC Nationals from Kingdom of Saudia Arabia and Kingdom of Bahrain who want to marry from a nationality other than theirs, should provide approval of their respective countries.
Special conditions that require judge approval:
If the age of one or both is under 18 Hijri years, or if the age of the male is twice or more than the age of the female.
Marriage between non-Muslims
If one or both do not have an official recognition document proving their nationality, or a valid residency visa.
Female without a legal guardian.

Fees:
500 AED, in cash
1000 AED for legal judge outside the judicial department premises, of which 500 AED are used for his expenses
