Requirements for Burial in the UAE:
** Recognized identification document proving the identity of the recipient (deceased relative or concerned person)
** Recognized identification document proving the identity of the deceased’s parents (the father and mother together)

** Letter of deceased body transfer from Sharjah Police addressed to the police directorate at the other Emirate for burial permit
** “No-Objection” letter from the concerned police department, if the case requires police investigations, stating that there is no objection from their side to collect the stillborn or abortuses for burial or cremation purposes.
Requirements for Transferring the deceased body overseas:
** Recognized identification document proving the identity of the deceased’s parents (the father and mother together)
** “Identification and travel permit” letter from the embassy of the dead fetus’ father certifying that this fetus is subject of the mentioned country
** identification in case of lost passport
** Recognized identification document proving the identity of the recipient (deceased relative or concerned person)
** “No-Objection” letter from the embassy to where the deceased will be transferred
** Letter from the airway company stating the flight details (flight number, date and time)
** “Dead-body Transfer” letter from Sharjah Police addressed to the police directorate in the other Emirate to facilitate the transfer process of the dead-body through its airport
** “No-Objection” letter from the concerned police department, if the case requires police investigations, stating that there is no objection from their side to collect the stillborn or abortus for transferring purposes.
Application Process:
** Visit the main morgue within the healthcare facilities located in Al Qasimi Hospital or Al Kuwaiti Hospital to follow-up on the deceased body preparation and collection procedures.
** Fill and sign the required forms, “Identification and receiving” and “Body readiness notification”; after identifying the deceased in the presence of the staff in charge.
** Collect the “Burial Permit” to bury the deceased body in Sharjah cemeteries.
Fees:
** AED 1000 for preparing, embalming and sealing the dead body in the coffin
** AED 100 for transferring the body from the mortuary to the airport for transfer overseas
** AED 50 per day fines for delay in collecting the body from the mortuary
