Registration of births:
Birth must be registered within a maximum limit period of 30 days. If the registration exceeds the statutory period, the birth registration can solely carried out by a legal decision.

Failure to report birth within the statutory period subjects the applicant to a fine of 300 to 1200 DH. The mother or the midwife are entitled report the birth of the new born.
Otherwise, if delivery has been without medical care, recourse shall be to the district having jurisdiction over the place of birth. After an investigation by an administrative officer , it will go to the district to which the place where the child was born.
After officer (caïd, khlifa, or moqaddem), an administrative certificate of birth shall be issued. This is the document to be provided to the civil status office within the place of birth.

Obtaining a copy of death certificate :
The death certificate is drawn up by the commune in which the deceased resided or by the commune in which they incurred death. The full copy of the death certificate is a complete reproduction of the statements in the death certificate.
