What is Indonesia Birth Registration?

Indonesian born in Greece needs to register at the Embassy of the Republic Indonesia in Athens in order to have a Birth Registration Certificate required by Indonesian Government.

Note: This includes new-born baby from parents of different nationality for example: Indonesian father and Greek mother) in accordance to Law No.12/2006 of 1 August 2006 on Citizenship.

How To Register Indonesia Birth Certificate?

To Register Indonesia Birth Certificate, Follow the steps given below,
Step 1: Applicant completes all the requirements
Step 2: Applicant sends the scanned copy the required documents to konsuler.athena [AT] kemlu.go.id for initial verification
Step 3: After the verification has been completed, the applicant may book appointment to the Consular Section of the Embassy.
Step 4: Applicant brings all the ORIGINAL and COPY of the Documents and come to the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, Consular Section.

The Requirements of Indonesia Birth Certificate are given below,
1. Original and copy of Birth Certificate issued by the Government of the Hellenic Republic;
2. Original and copy of the legalized and translated (into English) of the birth certificate. Translation and legalization issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic

Register of Certified Translators

1. The Register of Certified Translators comprises translators certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

2. Certified translators officially translate the following types of documents from a foreign language into Greek and vice versa and provide their services as freelancers:
• Public and private documents submitted by individuals or public agencies;
• Foreign public documents, as defined in the Hague Convention, provided that they are accompanied by the Hague Convention Apostille when they originate from a country that is a party to such Convention;
• In any other case, they must be certified by the Greek consular authority in their country of origin or by such country’s consular authority in Greece and then by the Validation Office (KEPPAE) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Only the relevant Greek consular authority may validate documents originating from countries for which Greece has made a reservation about their accession to the Hague Convention and for as long as such reservation remains valid.

3. Private documents may be officially translated if they are validated or certified. Certified translators may also translate non-validated, non-certified, unsigned and computer-generated private documents, whose translation shall not be official.
