South Island Regional Soil Geochemistry Survey :
A NZP&M funded regional soil geochemistry survey has been completed in the northern part of the South Island and in Otago and northern Southland. 909 sites were sampled. Each site was sampled at two depths with a grid spacing of 8km with 2km spaced sampling over selected areas.

Eighty-two analytes were measured using ICP-MS (partial digest) and XRF methods. The survey area includes coverage of the Dun Mountain Ultramafic Group and the Rotoroa Igneous Complex, West Dome and the Shotover.

The reports, GIS databases and raw data can be downloaded as enclosures of Mineral Report MR5413 (northern South Island) and MR5463 (Otago and northern Southland).

NZP&M’s Mineral and Coal Digital Data Submission Standards have been updated to reflect recent legislative changes, current reporting requirements and data formats. In addition, reporting guidelines have been incorporated, a technical report cover sheet template introduced and existing TAB delimited text templates have been replaced by CSV templates.

The updated standards and guidelines are effective from 1st Feb 2017 and all technical reports submitted to NZP&M will need to comply with the requirements outlined in the document. Download submission standards here.
