Electronic Payslips :

he University has now stopped issuing paper payslips and staff will now be receiving electronic payslips.

Why the introduction of E-Slips?:
** Quick and easy access to your current payslip
** Faster receipt of your payslip
** Increased security of pay information (passwords are encrypted)
** Reduced administration around payslip distribution
** Reduced paper, printing and postage costs.

Electronic payslips (E-slips):
Staff will receive an “online payslip report” sent to your @bath email address, all staff have both a BUCS username and email account. If you do not know yours please go to the BUCS Help Desk in the Library:
** open the email
** open the attachment
** enter the default password (either your date of birth or national insurance number).

E-slips are typically generated two days before pay day.

Viewing your E-slip:
You can view (and print) your e-slip by following these steps:
** log in to ESS
** check my payslip
** select the month you want to view or year for P60 details.

Problems receiving E-Slips:
Some email providers may treat E-Slips as spam, so if you do not receive yours please check the junk/spam folder of your email and then adjust your email settings.

Contact us if you have problems receiving your E-slips.

Electronic P-60 (E-60) – End of Tax year statement of earnings:
ESS has now been updated to include details of your P-60 for the tax year 2013/14 this can be viewed as follows:
** log in to ESS
** select ‘Check my payslip’
** select the Tax year from those available in the list.

E-60’s, an email with an image of your P-60 attached, will be sent to staff in week commencing 28 April 2014 and can be opened in the same manner as E-slips.

Set up or change your email address and password:
If you are a new member of staff or wish to change your existing E-Slip details please follow these steps:
** log in to ESS
** select More Quick links
** from the drop down menu Select My E-form preferences
** update your details
** save your changes.

This change will be effective for any E-slip or E-60 subsequently generated. You can use any valid email account. It is recommended you use the same email account and password for both your E-slip & E-60.

Leaving the university:
On leaving the university, before your ESS account is closed, you should save the details of your E-slip or E-60 to a location you will be able to access once you have left as you may need this information in the future.

Accessing ESS:
As a member of staff you can use ESS (iTrent) to view and manage personal information including:
** annual leave
** sickness absence
** payroll dates
** update bank details
** latest payslip
** payslip history.

Use your university username and password to log into employee self service. You can find more information on the ESS webpage on the Human Resources website.

Never let anyone else know these details as it will allow access to your confidential information, with the risk of exposing you to identity fraud.
