Applying for Re connection
1. When can a concessionaire be considered delinquent?:
A concessionaire can be considered delinquent when he fails to pay his water fees for two consecutive months.
2. When can a service line be disconnected?:
A service line can be disconnected on the following grounds;
a) non – payment of water fees for two consecutive months;
b) upon voluntary request by the registered concessionaire;
c) if found to have illegal activity, or violation of the provisions on the Water Service Contract.
3. How do you know that your line is disconnected?:
First, you don’t have water anymore while others have. Second, when you try to look at your meter stand there is a barrel lock clamped on the angle meter valve. In cases where there’s no angle meter valve, a rubber blind gasket is inserted to stop the flow and is not visible.
4. Will the water district inform you, as the concessionaire that your service line will be cut-off?:
Yes, a notice of disconnection is printed automatically in the water bill with two months account. From the time you receive your bill with the notice of disconnection, you still have 15 days to pay before its due date and a grace period of three (3) days after the due date to settle the accounts before the water district disconnects your line.
5. What is reconnection?:
It is the act of connecting back the service line which was closed or disconnected due to delinquency or upon the request of the registered concessionaire within two months after it has been cut-off.
6. When disconnected, what are you going to do in order to have your service line reconnected?:
You will go to the office at the Service Connection Installation Dept. ( SCID), 4th floor of MCWD building and request for a billing memo for payment of your accounts including the reconnection fee and other charges. Then you are requested to draw a sketch on the job order form as to location of the house where service line is located. After which, you will proceed to the teller ( ground floor) for payment. After payment, you may directly go home.
7. How long does it take to have the service line reconnected?:
Within the day or one (1) working day after payment of all the necessary fees.
8. What are the necessary fees to be paid up when applying for reconnection?:
You have to pay in full the unpaid water fees, reconnection fee of TWO HUNDRED EIGHTY ( P280.00 ) PESOS and a guarantee fee deposit, if ever there was none yet.
9. Is there a deadline as to when a consumer can apply for reconnection?:
A concessionaire can apply for reconnection within two months only after his service line was disconnected. If beyond two months and still he did not apply for reconnection, the Water District automatically closes his water service line at the tapping point and removes the meter.
10. If it is already closed at the tapping point, what are you going to do in order to have your closed service line opened?:
You have to apply for re-opening at the Service Connection Installation Dept. ( SCID ).
11. What is re-opening?:
Re-opening is an act of opening back your closed service line at the tapping point and the reinstallation of a water meter which was removed by the Water District.
12. What is the difference between reconnection and reopening?:
** Reconnection is an act of connecting back your closed service line within two ( 2 ) months after it has been cut-off and the resumption of your water service is immediate.
** Re-opening is also an act of connecting back your closed service line after two ( 2 ) months from the time it was disconnected or after the meter has been removed. It has to go through the usual flow of processing and will take few days before your water service is resumed.
13. How many days will the service line be re-opened?:
Re-opening of closed service line usually takes one ( 1 ) working day after payment of all the necessary fees.
14. What is the usual process of reopening a closed service line?:
The processing of the application for re-opening is like the processing of an application for a new line wherein it has to pass trough the usual flow. It has to be inspected first and after inspection, the concessionaire is advised to go back to the office, to have his/her records further verified, then payment of the accounts and other necessary fees at the Teller.After payment , the concessionaire may directly go home and wait for the reopening of the closed service line within one ( 1 ) working day.
