Applying For/ Renewing A Driving Licence :
Before you can legally drive a vehicle on the road, you must have a valid driving licence for the category of vehicle you wish to drive.

You must apply for or renew your licence at your parish hall. You will need:
** to complete an application form (available from you parish hall)
** one passport sized colour photograph
** the licence fee (£15 for a provisional licence or £40 for a full licence)
A provisional licence is valid for six months from the date of issue. The driving test (or at least a theory test) must be attempted during the six months’ validity or the Constable of your parish will normally refuse to issue another provisional until six months after the expiry date.
You should book your theory test well in advance to ensure that a test date is available before your provisional licence expires.
To get a full licence, you must pass both a driving theory test and a practical driving test.
Countries which have an exch?ange of licence agreement with Jersey:
A full valid driving licence (not a provisional) from the following countries may be exchanged for a Jersey driving licence (not all categories of licence are exchangeable).
Any person who becomes resident in Jersey and who has a foreign driving licence is required to exchange that foreign driving licence for a Jersey licence.
