Visitor’s Visa Renewal :

If you wish to stay in Norway or Schengen for more days than your visitor’s visa is valid for, you must apply for a visa extension. If you plan to travel in and out of Schengen an extra time, you have to apply for a new visa.

The visa cannot be valid for more than 90 days:
A Schengen visa can never be granted for more than 90 days, regardless of your situation. If you need to stay in Schengen for more than 90 days, you must apply for a residence permit. Your visa cannot be extended beyond 90 days.

When you have a Schengen visa, you can travel freely around the Schengen countries for as long as your visa is valid.

If you leave Schengen and your visa does not cover more entries, you must apply for a new visa to re-enter Schengen.

Apply to stay longer in Norway:

Your visa can only be extended in very special cases, for example if you have become seriously ill or if there has been a natural disaster.

Requirements:
** You must pay an application fee.
** You must still meet the same requirments as when you applied for the visa.
** You cannot have stayed in Norway or the Schengen area for more than 90 days.
** You must have a special and unforeseen reason for applying. Such reasons could be, for example, that you have been in an accident, that your flight has been cancelled, that a member of your immediate family has fallen ill or that the business meeting you are attending has been postponed. This must have happened after you arrived in Norway.

Apply to enter Norway or Schengen one extra time:

You can only be granted a visa for an extra entry in very special cases, for example if you suddenly have to travel to a country outside of Schengen.

Requirements:
** You must pay an application fee.
** You must still meet the same requirements as when you applied for the visa.
** You cannot have been in Norway or the Schengen area for more than 90 days.
** You must have a special and unforeseen reason for applying. Such reasons could be, for example, that you have to attend an extra business meeting in England or Ireland, or that you are attending the funeral of a close family member.

Want to renew :
** You wish to extend your stay in Norway.

Have you lived in Norway for more than three years?
** If you have held a residence permit in Norway for three years, you may be eligible for a permanent residence permit.
** If you are an EU/EEA national and have lived in Norway for at least five years, you may be eligible for permanent right of residence.
** If you have lived in Norway for at least seven years, you may be eligible for applying for Norwegian citizenship.
