RSA Visitors Visa Requirements :

Any Applicant for any Visa must submit his/her application IN PERSON to:
South African Embassy, Villa No 3, House No 91, Street 1, Block 10, Salwa

An Application for a Visitor’s Visa, not exceeding a period of three months (90 days) must be accompanied by :
Valid passport :
** Should be valid for no less than 30 days after the intended date of departure from the RSA
** Should have two blank visa pages, next to each other
** Each child shall travel on his/her own passport

** A duly completed Visa Application Form (DHA-84) : Signed by the applicant him/herself
** Visa Processing Fee for countries not exempted : Currently KWD12.000
** Two colored, recent passport photos
** Confirmation of employment (original) reflecting salary details, position and leave granted for period of visit

** Proof of financial means : Original bank statements (or bank certified) for the last three months or
** Original confirmation of purchase of travel cheques plus copies of the confirmation and cheques
** Copy of a valid return air flight ticket or proof of reservation thereof (for all legs of travel)
** Proof of hotel reservation for full period of stay in the RSA

If visiting friends or family in the RSA :
Invitation Letter stating full name, address and contact detail plus an undertaking, supported by a bank statement / salary advice, by the SA Citizen / Permanent Resident that he/she will be hosting the applicant and accepting responsibility for the costs related to the maintenance and removal of the applicant from the RSA

Certified copy of Identity Document:
Any applicant for a visa may be requested to be interviewed whenever it appears to any official processing his/her application that it is necessary to do so.

Travelling with children :
Where parents are travelling with a child (under the age of eighteen (18), such parents must produce to the Embassy as well as at the port of entry an unabridged birth certificate (in English) of the child reflecting the particulars of the parents of the child.

In the case of one parent travelling with a child, he/she must produce an unabridged birth certificate and :
** Consent in the form of an affidavit from the other parent registered as a parent on the birth certificate of the child authorizing him/her to enter into/depart from the RSA with the child he/she is travelling with;

** A court order granting full parental responsibilities and rights / legal guardianship in respect of the child, if he/she is the parent / legal guardian of the child; or
** Where applicable, a death certificate of the other parent registered as a parent of the child on the birth certificate;

** Where a person is travelling with a child who is not his/her biological child, he/she must produce :
** A copy of the unabridged birth certificate of the child;
** An affidavit from the parents / legal guardian of the child confirming that he/she has permission to travel with the child;
** Copies of the Identity Documents / passports of the parents / legal guardians of the child

** Contact details of the parents / legal guardians of the child.
** Any unaccompanied minor shall produce :
** Proof of consent from one of or both his/her parents / legal guardians, as the case may be, in the form of a letter or affidavit for the child to travel into / depart from the RSA;

** In the case where one parent provides proof of consent, that parent must also provide a copy of the court order issued to him/her in terms of which he/she has been granted full parental responsibilities in respect of the child;

** A letter from the person who is to receive the child in the RSA, containing his/her residential address and contact details in the RSA where the child will be residing;
** A copy of the Identity Document / valid passport and visa / permanent residence permit of the person who is to receive the child in the RSA;
** Contact details of the parents / legal guardian of the child.

All documents attached to a Visa Application, shall be :
Originals / copies authenticated by the issuing authority of the country of origin
Translated into English and certified as a correct translation by a sworn translator at the expense of the applicant.
