Applying for your Belgian pension from abroad:
The conditions vary according to your country of residence
Main place of residence in an EEA (European Economic Area) country or Switzerland
If you live in an EEA (European Economic Area) country or Switzerland, you should submit your application to the local authority responsible for social security. The EU’s ‘Your Europe’ website provides a wealth of information about this.
No agreement on social security between Belgium and your country of residence
If you live in a country that has not concluded a social security agreement with Belgium, you should sign your application personally and send it by registered mail to one of the following organisations in Belgium:

The National Pensions Office (ONP/RVP) has two key tasks, granting pensions to employees and paying out pensions to retired employees and self-employed workers. The National Institute for the Social Security of the Self-employed (INASTI/RSVZ) examines self-employed workers’ pension entitlements. Pensions are then paid out by the ONP/RVP.
If you are or have been both an employee and self-employed:
You should submit your application to either of the two organisations mentioned above (an application submitted to one organisation is also automatically valid for the other).
Note:
In case of death, heirs are obliged to inform the relevant organisation of the death of the pension recipient and submit a copy of the death certificate. The pension is not automatically converted into a survivors’ pension for the surviving spouse. The spouse must personally submit an application following the same procedure outlined above.
Social security agreement between Belgium and your country of residence
If Belgium has concluded a social security agreement (covering pensions) with the country in which you, the pension applicant, are resident, then you should submit your application to the local social security organisation in your country of residence.

Payment of your Belgian pension abroad:
Relevant authority: pensions are paid out abroad by the National Pensions Office (ONP/RVP), Tour du Midi, B-1060 Brussels.
Exception: pensions for the public sector are paid out by SPF Finances, Service central des dépenses fixes (SCDF), Avenue des Arts 30, 1040 Brussels (see Administration of the Treasury).

All types of Belgian pensions can be paid out anywhere in the world to Belgians, EU nationals and nationals of countries that have concluded a social security agreement with Belgium. Miners’ pensions can be paid out anywhere in the world (dependent on certain restrictions).
Problems and complaints:
In the event of problems with payment (for example, late payment or loss or theft of cheques), you, as the recipient of the pension, may contact:
the organisation that pays out your pension in Belgium;
or, if you live in a country that has concluded a bilateral social security agreement with Belgium, you can submit your complaint to the local social security organisation.
