Passport of a Citizen of Georgia :
Passport of citizen of Georgia is a document certifying a person’s identity and citizenship inside and outside Georgia.

Passport is a property of Georgia, which is issued to citizens of Georgia of any age, enabling them to leave Georgia, travel abroad and enter Georgia. Responsibility to keep a passport and use it accordingly lies with its legal holder.

Biometric Passport:
Compared to an ordinary passport, a biometric passport additionally has an electronic michrochip containing personal data, an electronic photo and fingerprints of a holder. A biometric passport represents the highest technology and counterfeit-protected travel document.

The use of biometric passport aims at ensuring complete identification of a person and eliminating cases of forgery of official documents. A move towards the issuance of biometric passports significantly improves the reliability of documents issued in Georgia.

Issuance Of Passport Of Citizen Of Georgia :
To obtain a biometric passport, please, apply to any branch of the Public Service Development Agency or Public Service Hall.

To obtain a biometric passport, you must submit:
** ID card (original)
** Two color biometric photos (photo can be taken at branches of the Public Service Development Agency or Public Service Hall. Price 3 GEL)
** Receipt of payment of service fee – 100 GEL (see Benefits)
** In case of replacement of passport – a previous passport.

Passport is issued to a person of full legal age for the period of 10 years.

Passport Of Citizen Of Gerogia For Person Under 16 Years Of Age :
To obtain a biometric passport, please, apply to any branch of the Public Service Development Agency or Public Service Hall.

The following documents must be submitted to obtain a biometric passport:
** Birth certificate (original)
** ID card (original), if a person has reached the age of 14 before he/she applied for a passport
** Consent of both parents on the issuance of a passport (a form of consent is filled out at a branch of the Agency, Public Service Hall or public notary bureau)
** ID cards of both parents (original)
** Receipt of payment of service fee – 50 GEL
** Two color biometric photos (photo can be taken at branches of the Public Service Development Agency or Public Service Hall. Price 3 GEL).

Note: A person having reached the age of 14 can apply for a biometric passport.

Validity of a passport issued to a minor under 16 years of age is three years.

Issuance Of Passport Of Citizen Of Georgia To Person Between 16 And 18 Years Of Age :
To obtain a biometric passport, please, apply to any branch of the Public Service Development Agency or Public Service Hall.

Issuance Of Passport To Citizen Of Georgia Abroad :
Citizens of Georgia who are abroad are issued 32-page non-biometric passports.

Passport can be received in one of the following three ways:
1. Passport can be issued through online service. In case of applying online:
** A passport is prepared within two business days and is either handed over to an authorized person of applicant or sent to an applicant by mail
** Fee of a passport is 205 GEL.

2. An authorized person of an applicant may arrive at a branch of the Public Service Development Agency or Public Service Hall, submit a notarized power of attorney on the receipt of passport, fill out the form of application on the spot and receives a passport of applicant. Terms and fees of issuance of passport are:
** On the 10th business day -105 GEL
** On the 5th business day – 155 GEL

3. Applicant may approach a diplomatic representation of Georgia abroad to receive a passport. In such a case:
** Passport is prepared within a month
** Fee of document is 65 USD.

Travel Passport Of Stateless Person:
A travel passport is issued to a stateless person being in Georgia to enable him/her leavr Georgia, travel abroad and enter Georgia.

To obtain a travel passport, please, apply to any branch of the Public Service Development Agency or corresponding Public Service Hall.

The following documents must be submitted to obtain a travel passport:
** Residence card
** Two color biometric photos (photo can be taken at branches of the Public Service Development Agency or Public Service Hall. Price 3 GEL)
** Receipt of payment of service fee
** In case of replacement of passport – a previous passport

Documents To Be Submitted For Issuance Of Travel Passport To Minor Under 16 Years Of Age:
** Birth certificate
** Residence card (a minor, regardless of his/her age, must have a residence card)
** Consent of both parents on the issuance of passport (a form of consent is filled out at a branch of the Agency, Public Service Hall or public notary bureau); One of parent’s ID card (original)
** Two color biometric photos (photo can be taken at branches of the Public Service Development Agency or Public Service Hall. Price 3 GEL)

Documents to be submitted for issuance of travel passport to minor aged between 16 and 18:
** Birth certificate
** Residence card (a minor, regardless of his/her age, must have a residence card)
** Consent of one of parents on the issuance of passport (a form of consent is filled out at a branch of the Agency, Public Service Hall or public notary bureau)
** One of parents’ ID card (original)
** Minor aged between 16 and 18, who is officially married, does not need a consent of a legal representative to receive a passport
** Two color biometric photos (photo can be taken at branches of the Public Service Development Agency or Public Service Hall. Price 3 GEL)

A travel passport is issued for a period of two years.
If less than two years are left before the expiry of apllicant’s residence card, a travel passport will be issued for a period of time until the validity of residence card expires.

Note: A term of travel passport issued to a stateless person, who held a certificate of permanent residence before 27 June 2012, will be five years.
