Use this app to obtain information regarding the refund status of your Ohio and school district individual income tax return. This application only allows you to check the status of the return filed in the current year for the previous tax year. You must enter some personal information and identify the tax type and return type for the refund you are inquiring about. The information requested is your social security number, your date of birth, the type of tax and whether it is the original or an amended return

1. What is Ohio ePayment?
Ohio ePayment is the Ohio Department of Taxation’s income tax online payment service. This secure online service allows you to pay your Ohio individual income and Ohio school district income tax return payments, amended return payments, estimated payments and extension to file payments using an electronic check or credit card. You must use the Income Tax Online Services Dashboard to make billing and assessment payments.
2. Who is eligible to use Ohio ePayment?
Ohio taxpayers who have successfully registered with our Online Services are eligible to use Ohio ePayment. You will be required to provide your social security number, last name and date of birth.
Additionally, you will be required to enter your 2015 Ohio Withholding amount from line 14 of your Ohio IT 1040 return or the issue date of your current Ohio Driver’s License or State ID. All of this information must match our records. If you are a first time Ohio filer or have attempted to register but have been unsuccessful, click here to learn what you need to do to be eligible to use Ohio ePayment.
3. How do I make a payment by using the Income Tax Online Services?
Once logged in to Income Tax Online Services, you will be able to make Ohio Individual Income and School District Income 40P tax return payments, 40P amended return payments, 40P extension payments and estimated tax payments, as well as billing and assessment payments.
In order to make tax return, amended return, extension or estimated tax payments, you must select the View/Make Payments link under the Online Services menu, click the View/Make Payments button and then click on “Make an electronic payment” under Available Services.
In order to make a billing or assessment payment, you must select the Pay button under the Actions column in the Outstanding Balance section of the Dashboard. The Dashboard will display “You have no outstanding liabilities” if you have no outstanding bills or assessments.
4. When can I use the ePayment system?
Ohio ePayment is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, except for scheduled maintenance.
5. How much does it cost to use Ohio ePayment?
It is free to use Ohio ePayment when paying by electronic check. However, if you choose to pay by credit card a 2 ½ % service fee is charged by Official Payments Corporation. The Department of Taxation does not receive any portion of this fee.
