Applying for Online Banking:
New customers:
You’ll need to complete our 100 point identity check. The main forms of identification are:
** Birth certificate or passport
** Another form of photo identification – driver’s licence or local superannuation card.
Other forms of identification may also be acceptable. Visit your local branch or call (676) 23933 for more information.
Existing customers::
You may have already provided necessary identification. Visit your local branch to get started.

Online FAQ :
I don’t remember my Customer ID, where can I find it?
** If you’ve forgotten your Customer ID, you can find it online.
You’ll need :
** Your Westpac debit card, credit card or handycard
** Your registered mobile number to receive your Westpac ProtectTM SMS code or your SecurID token
For Online :
** go to the Sign in page, and click on ‘Forgot customer ID or password’ and follow the prompts.
For Mobile & Tablet Banking :
** go to the Sign in page, and select Forgot? on the Customer ID field and follow the prompts.
You can also find your Customer ID :
On your statement :
** it can be found towards the top of your Westpac Account Statement or in an email that you received when you opened an account or registered for Westpac Online Banking.
Over the phone :
** you can also ring us on 132 032 and for security reasons you will be asked a number of questions to enable us to identify you.
How can I change personal details eg phone number, email address?
If you’re using the Westpac Online Banking and are registered for SMS Code :
** Sign in to Westpac Online Banking
** Select Preferences from the Services & preferences menu
** Select Personal details to expand that section
** Enter the SMS Code sent to your mobile
** Edit, add, or delete as needed, then save any changes.

If you’re using the Westpac Mobile Banking App and are registered for SMS Code :
** Sign in to Mobile Banking
** Select Profile settings from the menu (top left hand corner)
** Select Update contact details
** Enter the SMS Code sent to your mobile
** Edit, add, or delete as needed, then save any changes
Not registered for SMS Code?
** To make changes to your personal details online, you need to be registered for Westpac Protect™ SMS Code.
** If you’re not registered for Westpac Protect™ SMS Code, you can register by going to Preferences from the Services & preferences menu and selecting Security.
** Alternatively, you can call 132 032 or visit your nearest Westpac branch. Just have your 8-digit customer ID and Telephone Banking access code handy.
