Issuing of Licences to Private Security Companies :
The Private Security Guard Companies Authority was established in May 2011, by an Act of parliament as the mandatory office that should register ,monitor and screen all Private security companies and their employees operating in The Gambia .

The office is under the purview of the Ministry of Interior and discharges other functions and roles as the Minister of Interior may assign to it. Since then the office came up with a standard requirement for all the private security companies to abide by before they are granted approval to operate by the Hon. Minister of Interior.
How To Aquire Licenses For Your Private Security Company:
1. Article and Memorandum of Association.
2. Income tax certificate.
3. Business registration certificate.
4. Social Security Certificate.
5. Name of the company.
6. Number of staff to start with
7. Bank Account (Healthy).
8. Nationality (Gambian ID/ Card or Aliens ID/ Card.
9. Sample of uniform to be used
10. Cliental (prospective clientele).
11. Source of income.
12. Certificate of character.
13. National Education levy fund if the turn over is half a million and and above
14. Payroll (Expatriate tax for non Gambian residents, employees/ shareholders.
15. At least 50% of shareholders should be Gambians.
16. Fifty Thousand Dalasis (D50, 000) annual license fees
How To Aquire Clearance For Your Tinted Glass Vehicle:
** An applicant should write a letter address to the Permanent Secretary of the MInister,applying for a clearance.
** This letter written should be submitted at the Ministry with a copy of the car’s INSURANCE DOCUMENT.
** During submittion three original copies will be handed over to the applicant.
** This forms should be taken to MOBILE TRAFFIC UNIT,KANIFING along with the vehicle.The vehicle will be examined by the police officers there,after which the forms will be filled,signed, and stamped.
** The same forms should be returned back to the ministry for the final stamp and signature to validate the forms and keep record.
Gambia Immigration Department :
The Gambia Immigration Department used to be a unit under the Gambia Police Force but was carved from the Gambia Police Force or in order words become autonomous in 1992 by a Cabinet memorandum. This came as a result of an increasing demand to tackle challenges that poses Immigration matters.
There and then the Immigration officers are charged with the responsibilities of enforcing and interpreting the various acts and laws connected to the movement of people coming in, within and outside the Gambia which of course includes the protection of life and property. The prevention and detection of offence committed against the Immigration act, the maintenance of law and order and the prosecution of offenders against the peace
