To pay your water and sewer bill you will need your water and sewer bill account number, located at the top of your water bill.
Pay Your Bill Online:
DEP now offers a variety of enhancements and options for account holders through the DEP website. Use your computer, smartphone, or tablet to make payments any time. For both online and mobile payments, you can pay via automated transfer from your checking or savings account without an additional charge. We will also accept credit and debit card payments, including MasterCard, Discover and American Express cards, for a 2.25% convenience fee. We do not accept Visa.
Register for a My DEP Account (click on “My DEP Account and Online Bill Pay” blue button in the top right corner)
Within your My DEP Account, select Make a Payment. You will be prompted to create a Profile and an access code. This access code is an added level of security that will further protect your personal information.
Once you have established your profile, we offer multiple payment options:
** On-going payments save your payment information on our secure payment site to avoid having to reenter for future payments
** Automatic bill payments set up a recurring payment for your DEP bills
** Consolidated payments initiate a single transaction to pay multiple DEP bills
** QuickPay – pay a bill without logging in! Look for the QuickPay shortcut next to the My DEP Account login.

To ensure your payment is correctly processed, please make your payment to NYC Water Board, and write your DEP account number on your check or money order.
From this post office hub in Newark, all payments will be routed to our new processing center in Staten Island.
How do I pay online?:
Visit https://www.nyc.gov/site/dep/index.page and click on the blue “My DEP Account and Online Bill Pay” button located at the top right side of the page.
Use DEP’s new QuickPay feature to pay a bill without logging in.

Through My DEP Account, create a new payment profile and enter your bank account/credit card information to enroll. Sign up for or log in to My DEP Account.
I forgot my access code. What do I do now?:
You can request to have a temporary access code sent to your registered email address by clicking the “Forgot your Access Code?” link below the “Continue” button. Fill in the requested information and click “Continue” and then answer your security question and click “Submit”. You can attempt to answer your security question multiple times. Please call us at 718-595-7000 during regular business hours if you are still having trouble.
Can I pay multiple bills at once?:
Yes. Through My DEP Account, create a new payment profile and enter your bank account/credit card information to enroll. Sign up for or log in to My DEP Account.
How do I set up a recurring payment?:
1. Visit nyc.gov/dep and click the “My DEP Account” button at the top right of the page.
2. Log in to My DEP Account and then click the “Make a Payment” link at the top of the page.
3. Follow the instructions on the screen and register for our new and improved online payment site.
4. Enter your newly created access code and answer your security question. Once you reach the “Home” page, click “Recurring Payments” by moving your cursor over the “Payments” tab at the top of your screen.
5. Follow the instructions and please remember that the recurring payment will not take effect until your next bill has been issued. Please make a one-time payment if you have an open balance.
What credit cards do you accept?:
We accept debit and credit cards from MasterCard, American Express and Discover with a 2.25% convenience fee. We do not accept Visa at this time.

Can I make payments if I’m in a payment agreement?:
Yes. You can make a payment online, by phone, by check, or in person as described above. Our new online and pay by phone options will tell you your amount due, so you know how much you need to pay to remain current on your agreement.
