TNB Apply For Streetlights
You can approach your local authorities to request for additional streetlights in your area, and if approved, you will not need to pay any extra charges.For customers who wish to apply for street lighting under their own name, a connection charge will be imposed.

How to apply
A customer may apply for street lighting from the local authorities. The monthly charge for street lighting may be borne by these authorities if their consent is secured.
A monthly charge of RM10.00 will also be included in the customer’s account. Customer may go to the nearest Kedai Tenaga for more information on the connection charges.
Apply for new street lights
Application for street lighting is divided into three:
Application by local authority / government
Application by developer
Application by individuals
Application by developer:
Step 1: Appoint consulting engineers and electrical contractors who are registered with the Energy Commission
Step 2: Application is made together with the application of electricity supply for new housing development, accompanied by detailed information on the burden of the proposed street lighting as approved by the local authorities

For application by individuals, customer must be registered with TNB.
Installation of street lights are divided into:
Installation of street lighting on existing TNB poles:
To submit application form at Kedai Tenaga
Installation of street lighting on new /additional poles:
Applicant to bear full cost for the installation
Relocation of street lights:
Customers may apply in writing to TNB and attach the Electricity Pole Location Plan (existing and relocation).
The customer is liable to pay for the relocation charges. Customers may refer to the nearest Kedai Tenaga for more information.
Charges and Tariff Rates
“Street Lighting Consumer” means a consumer lighting up public roads, highways and bridges excluding tolled roads and highways.
“Neon & Floodlight Consumer” means a consumer lighting up neon and floodlight installations for roadside advertisements, billboards, buildings, traffic lights, signages, bus-stops and telephone kiosks or for decorating the facade of buildings. For this purpose, the consumer must install facilities for separate metering system and pay full installation costs incurred by TNB to provide the supply.
Types of TNB streetlights
Street lights owned by TNB are commonly installed on TNB concrete poles, spun poles or wooden poles. They can be easily identified; having TNB logo or TNB corporate colors (blue and red), and pole reference number.
Streetlights not owned by TNB:
Some streetlights are owned by the street or highway developer such as Plus, Grand Saga, NKVE etc.
Some others are owned by local authorities/ municipal council such as Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ), Petaling Jaya Municipal Council (MPPJ) etc.
These streetlights are usually galvanized, such as decorative lights or single-arm/double-arm streetlights.
What to do when you have a broken streetlight:
Common causes for broken street lights
Quality of light components e.g. burnt light bulb, damaged time-switch equipment etc.
Bad weather e.g. fallen trees
Third parties e.g. damaged underground cable, damaged poles due to road accidents etc.
To report on a faulty street lighting:
You may go to Submit Feedback > Send To: Customer Service > Feedback Type: Street Light, where your report will be channeled directly to the TNB station concerned for further corrective action.

We would like to inform that the street lighting in JALAN BUKIT INDAH .TAMAN SRI BUKIT INDAH .14000 BUKIT MERTAIAM .PENANG is not functioning. The street lighting post NO SIRI :71327.
