Disabled Student Allowance & Part-Time Fee Grant Application:

We are an agency of the Scottish Government giving financial support to eligible students doing a course of higher education in the UK.

We receive over 150,000 applications annually from undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as applications for Disabled Student Allowance, the NHS Bursary Scheme and the Part-time Fee Grant. This website provides information on all types of student funding available and allows you to apply for your financial support.

How to apply:
We advise that you read the information in this area before applying to us, to ensure that your funding is in place for the start of your course.

This section will explain how and when you can apply to us for funding. We have included hints and tips that cover the most common queries we receive, details of which documents you need to supply and other helpful information to allow you to complete your application correctly. Information videos are available to help you understand the funding and application process.

You should select First application if you are a prospective full-time undergraduate student, who has never applied to us for funding in the past.

Full-time undergraduate students who have applied to us for funding in the past, should read the Applied before section.

If you are the parent, spouse or partner of a full-time undergraduate student, you can also find details here about any information we need from you.

Nursing/midwifery students should select the option that applies to you for information on how to apply for funding.

Full-time and Part-time Postgraduate students can find out how to download applications for a tuition fee loan and disabled students’ allowance in the Postgraduate area.

EU nationals who would like to apply for funding to study at a Scottish college or university should read the EU nationals section.

Any students who intend to study an eligible Part-time undergraduate course in session 2015-2016 can find details here of how to apply for a tuition fee grant.

Update my details:
Tell us about any changes to your details

You should login to your online account to tell us of a change in your circumstances (bank details, address, change of course/college/university, personal details etc).

You can email us if you want to cancel/amend an application you have submitted or have an enquiry about our online services. You can also email us if you have a disabled students’ allowance, nursing/midwifery, postgraduate study, lone parent grant, part-time fee grant or migrant worker query.

If you have forgotten your password or username and cannot access your online account, you can use our forgotten login details service.

Upload Documents:
You can use this service to upload documents to us if you have a SAAS student reference number, an online account and you must have applied to us for full time funding for session 2011-2012 or later.
You must have your documents in either JPG (or JPEG) (1.0 MB maximum file size), TIFF (or TIF) (maximum file size 1.0 MB, maximum page count 5), or PDF format (maximum file size 0.5 MB, maximum page count 5. Note: pdf reader software must be installed on your computer). File name can be no longer than 15 characters.
You can upload up to 5 documents in the one transaction.
You will be able to type in additional information in support of your documents if you wish.
The documents you upload must be clear and legible.
