How To Renew Missouri Nursing License?

LPN licenses expire on 5-31 of each even-numbered year. Please check your license. Your Missouri license must be current to practice nursing in the State of Missouri. Please contact the Board office at 573-751-0681 as soon as possible for additional renewal information.

Read the procedures carefully and Click on the Continue button.

To renew your license, you will need to use your Online PIN and LicenseNumber. Please enter your Online PIN and License Number and click Continue to proceed with your online renewal process.

RN Renewal Information :
RN licenses expire on 4-30 of each odd-numbered year. Please check your license. Your Missouri license must be current to practice nursing in the State of Missouri. Please contact the Board office at 573-751-0681 as soon as possible for additional renewal information.

Additional Information for RNs & LPNs :
To safeguard your pin number, signatures are now required for both name and address changes.

Submit your request for a name change in writing. Include your license number, previous name, and current name. Please PRINT clearly and sign the letter using your current signature.

Missouri Nursing License Renewal Processing Fee

Along with the renewal fee, any person renewing online must pay a vendor processing fee which is a percentage determined by the renewal fee.

Remember if you do not wish to pay this processing fee, you can renew by mail with a check or money order utilizing the renewal forms sent to you.

Special Note:
Not all professions are currently participating in the Online License Renewal system.

Why is there an additional fee for renewing my license online?:
This is the fee charged by the vendor who processes your payments. The additional fee is not collected or used by the Missouri Division of Professional Registration. Instead the fee is paid directly to the vendor and covers expenses such as the security needed for the transaction and transfer of funds, verification that a credit card or bank account is valid, and reporting successful transactions.

How much is the additional fee for renewing my license online?:
The vendor processing fee is a percentage determined by your renewal fee (see chart below).

Is the application secure?:
Yes. The entire site (renew.pr.mo.gov) uses SSL and 128-bit encryption. Also, the Missouri Division of Professional Registration does not keep or store your full Credit Card or Bank Account information. Instead it is securely passed to an outside vendor who specializes in secure online transactions.

What is my PIN number?:
Your PIN number is used to ensure secure access to your records within this system. This can be found on your license renewal form. Please keep this information in a safe location.

What if I’ve forgotten or lost my PIN number?:
You will need to contact the specific board directly to obtain your PIN.

Can others access my license renewal records?:
A user of this system would need your license number and your PIN number to access the records within this system. Please keep this information in a safe location. Also, no recorded changes are processed unless the final payment step is completed online.

Why can’t I change my name and/or address?:
Typically, boards and commissions require some type of documentation in order to change these items. If your information appears incorrect please contact your board or commission.

  • I am living in Oklahoma and working in Missouri and recently received my multi state license from Oklahoma. I received a renewal notice from Missouri State Board recently, do I just discard the renewal notice from Missouri?
