The material on the following search pages includes summary details of licence applications and certain related documents in electronic PDF format.

Public Access to Licensing Files:
As part of the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) policy of openness and transparency and in accordance with the Access to Information of the Environmental Regulations and various licensing/Permit Regulations, licensing files are available for public inspection.
In order to provide greater access to all stakeholders, the Agency displays application files and related documents on this website for public viewing purposes.
Files available are:
** IPPC applications received since December 2004 and all Inspectors’ reports and licences issued to-date at Search for an IPPC Licence
** Waste applications received since December 2004 and all Inspectors’ reports and licences issued to-date at Search for a Waste Licence
** VOC applications and related documents received since January 2007 at VOC Information
** Dumping at Sea (DaS) applications and related documents received since February 2010 at DaS Information
** Waste Water Discharge applications (WWD) received since December 2007 at Search for a Waste Water Discharge Authorisation
** Historic Landfill applications and related documents received since May 2009 at Historic Landfill – Certificate of Authorisation
As of May 2009, electronic versions of Annual Environmental Reports (AERs) for 2008 onwards can also be viewed on the above search pages.

Note that copies of applications and licences may also be available at the relevant Local Authority office for the area concerned. Please contact the Local Authority office directly to confirm that this service is provided.
Data Protection:
The Data Protection Directive ( Directive 95/46/EC ) is implemented by the Data Protection Acts 1988 and 2003. The Directive applies where personal data (manual and electronic) is concerned i.e. data relating to a person. It also applies to data about individuals involved in companies but not to companies themselves. The Directive requires that data is accurate and, where necessary, kept up-to-date. Every reasonable step must be taken to ensure that data which is inaccurate or incomplete, having regard to the purposes for which it was collected or for which it is further processed, is erased or rectified.
Applicants for licences and authorisations and those who make submissions and objections are informed of the fact that any information they give to the EPA will be made publicly available, both at the offices of the EPA and on this website. This is notified to applicants by means of a declaration of the licence application form and to the public on the licence search page on this website.
The EPA provides that any data on a licence or authorisation application file relating to an individual may be inspected and the individual concerned may object to the information if it is inaccurate or incomplete, and may request that any such information be erased or rectified. A request may be made by completing, signing and submitting the specified Data Protection Request Form.
