Macao SAR Resident Identity Card Application :

The followings are the general requirements for the application of Macao SAR Resident Identity Card. These requirements are subjected to change without prior notice.

A) First Time Application:
1. For applicant who is under the age of 18, born in Macao and one of his/her parents is a Macao resident at the time of his/her birth –

Applicant is required to submit:
** Original copy of birth certificate;
** Photocopies of both parents’ identification documents;
** Original and photocopy of Hong Kong identity card of the applicant, if any

2. For holders of One-way Exit Permit issued by the Public Security Authority of Mainland China:
After receiving the Residence Certificate issued by the Immigration Department, applicants can apply for the Macao SAR Resident Identity Card at the Identification Services Bureau (hereafter referred to as DSI) with the following documents:
** “Residence Certificate” issued by the Immigration Department;
** Original copy of the One-way Exit Permit;
** Original and photocopy of the Notarial Birth Certificate or Birth Certificate, if any.

3. For holders of Residence Authorization Documents (including “Receipt of Residence Authorization” or “Residence Certificate”):
Applicant is required to submit:
** – Original and photocopy of a notification letter indicating your residence in Macao has been approved by the Immigration Department or the Trade and Investment Promotion Institute;
** – Original copy of valid residence authorization documents issued by the Immigration Department;
** – Original and photocopy of a valid passport or travel document;
** – Original and photocopy of foreign residence document (only applicable to holders of the People’s Republic of China passport);
** – Original and photocopy of Hong Kong SAR Identity card, if any;
** – Original and photocopy of birth certificate, if any.

4. For holder of BICN:
Applicant is required to submit:
** Original copy of birth certificate, if any;
** Original and photocopy of BICN;
** Original and photocopy of a valid passport or travel document, if any;
** “Residence Certificate” issued by the Immigration Department (except applicants who were born in Macao and whose parent was a Macao resident and was holding a valid Macao SAR Resident Identity Card at the time of the applicants’ birth);
** Original and photocopy of Hong Kong SAR Identity card, if any.

5. For holder of the Certificate of Entitlement to the Right of Abode in the Macao SAR:
Applicant is required to submit:
** Original copy of the Certificate of Entitlement to the Right of Abode in the Macao SAR;
** Original copy of former Macao Identity Card or BICE, if any;
** Original and photocopy of a valid passport or travel document, if any;
** Original copy of necessary documents that have not been submitted at the time of applying for the Certificate of Entitlement to the Right of Abode in the Macao SAR (e.g. birth certificate, household register or household registration transcript, valid identification documents of parents, marriage certificate, identification document of spouse, divorce certificate, death certificate of spouse, etc.)

Applicants are required to submit other supplementary documents if needed.
