Request a Residence Certificate :
Principle and conditions:
The residence certificate is proof of your current residence in the Principality. It is issued to residents of the Principality by the Residents’ Section.

If you have lived in the Principality for less than six months, you will not qualify for a residence certificate unless you provide documents justifying an exemption.
Residence certificates are valid for six months. They are signed by the Director of Police Department or by a Police superintendent.The fees are 1.50 €.

To get this form, you can either:

Getting ready to apply:
You must go in person to the Residents’ Section, taking the following documents:
** The completed “Request a Residence Certificate” form
** The two most recent electricity bills relating to your accommodation
** A valid residence permit
Collecting the residence certificate:
You can collect your residence certificate from the Resident’s Section after 72 hours.
The issuing fees are 1.50 €.
How to notify a change in your circumstances for residents in the Principality

** You should notify the Residents’ Section of any change of address, family circumstances or professional circumstances, even if your residence card is still valid.
How to notify a change of address :
You should go to the Residents’ Section in person, with the following documents :
** The two most recent electricity bills relating to your former address
** Proof of your new address (deed of ownership or lease)
** Your new electricity contract

How to notify a change in your family or professional circumstances
** You should take proof of the change in your family or professional circumstances to the Residents’ Section.
Apply For A Residence Permit :
Principle :
** Anyone who is at least 16 years of age and wishes to reside in Monaco for more than three months in a year, or set up home in the Principality, must apply for a residence permit from the Monégasque authorities. Residence permits are not issued to minors under the age of 16; a Travel document for a foreign minor may be issued to enable overseas travel.
** Once an application for a residence permit has been submitted, a ‘temporary’ card valid for one year may be issued, for which there are no particular length of residency requirements. The fee for this card is €10.
Conditions :
** The requirements for foreigners settling in Monaco vary depending on the nationality of the applicant.
In all cases, you must be able to prove that you have :
Accommodation in Monaco which is large enough to accommodate those living there, through :
** Being the owner of a house or apartment; or
** Being the director or unit holder of a company which owns a house or apartment; or
** Renting a house or apartment; or
** Staying with a close relative, your spouse, or partner with whom you are living as a couple
Sufficient financial resources, by means of :
** A salary; or
** Professional income (independent commercial activity or through a company); or
** Sufficient savings (the sum which is judged sufficient depends on the banking establishment in Monaco providing the reference); or
** Being supported by a relative, spouse or partner with whom you are living as a couple
** Good character, proof of which should be supplied by providing a copy of your criminal records information from the country or last two countries in which you have resided in the five years prior to your arrival in Monaco.
** If your situation differs from those described below or if there is a genuine reason why you are unable to supply the information requested, consult the Residency Section, who will assess your situation.
** If you leave Monaco, you must surrender your residence permit.
